Truth/True Real Question Let-Go / Give-Up Grounded Open Now
Bad News
Hey all! This is a question I’ve been working on recently and I want to stir a good conversation: What’s the best and most merciful way to give bad news? By extension, what is bad news? Does the nature of delivery change based on circumstances? Should bad news ever be withheld? Are there circumstances in which it must be given? How can it be done most mercifully? Does that change based on the giver or receiver of the news? Is timing important? Is timing more important than immediacy? Is one more wrong or right than the other? Genuinely don’t know and excited to see what anyone comes up with! I hope this is a question worthy of your time. - Chris

Really helpful reply, thank you. I agree especially on holding the space open.
Is pushing past mental barriers a common part of the work?
Lately I notice I I have this thing where there's a "core personality trait" that I'm holding onto, out of fear, feeling like it really is important, and also a huge opening that starts to come, even if only briefly, when I abandon it, even just temporarily. I feel like I'm "stuck between a rock and a hard place" between holding onto this trait because of what I feel it "does for me," even if it really just seems to be comparing myself to other things and suffering, and the opening and depth of experiential prodding, "seeing what's out there" when I drop it. Could that be considered a mental "barrier?" That "resistance" to change, the impulse to maintain the familiar, or the general lack of openness? And, would you say this is a common aspect of the work, pushing past these barriers, wanting to know what is "beyond" the current level of understanding? I just wanna know

Hey, maybe this will help you: If doing anything feels “unsafe” or “scary”, I think it’s fair to just watch it. Watch it/yourself actively. Become more aware of it. Try to watch it happening. I can’t enunciate this enough. You really don’t need to change ANYthing you truly don’t want to. But become aware of it. Don’t let it slide past YOU. It’s also fine to “try stuff on”. You can try on giving up the trait without swearing anything off. You can try different hats. You can try no hats. Does the hat change who you are? What’s this trait really doing for you? Are you even holding it? Who’s holding it? Who the hell even is that? Who exactly does it benefit? Is the trait what it really is or something else? Are you super sure? Would you bet your soul? ;) Try asking those questions to yourself by yourself and get the answers for yourself by yourself for the sake of itself (if you actually want that) and THAT could be really helpful if you want. I don’t want to call anything common or a mental barrier for you and I don’t know that an answer outside yourself will help you. The work is you. Only you can know. I will say, this work has been scary, difficult, confusing, exhausting and infuriating for me. It has also liberated me. I’ve dropped a lot of my personal bullshit from pursuing this work. And I’m way happier and genuine as a result of that. The fact you’re asking is very powerful all by itself. It may seem like nothing but fire cannot start without the spark. Keep asking!

Generally, people are stuck in a great deal of false realities that produce struggle, suffering, and discontent. Increasing consciousness frees us from this falsely limited world so we can access greater freedom and happiness, not to mention gain more effectiveness and creativity. Becoming more conscious takes investigation, learning, and contemplation. We provide these tools and support.” — Peter Ralston

Hey everybody, my name is Chris. Longtime lurker here but I was a former apprentice of Peter’s and was very lucky to study under him and with Brendan. I love this work deeply and am having fun exploring just how deep this consciousness stuff actually goes. Thanks for having me!

@Dimitar Biserov thanks Dimitar! I used to feel unworthy of participating in this community. I’ve recently had a shift in consciousness and I’ve thrown a lot of those worries away. This work is increasingly more important to me and I wish it for every person and I want to be a part of it.
I am Preparing the Next Master Class on Limiting Beliefs and Need Your Help
The people have spoken! You want to see a video on Limiting Beliefs. I want to hear back from you because I have started working on this next masterclass and your input will help. If it's really good I will address it in the video. In terms of working with limiting beliefs: What have you tried already? What were the results and how did it work? What do you envision you need this course for? Please answer in the comments! Best, Brendan

Hey Brendan, Big one for me is even recognizing something is a limiting belief to begin with. Oftentimes the second I make the distinction between a limiting belief vs truth, it becomes easier to separate and dissolve. I’ve found personal success in confronting myself on held beliefs by going on alert when something bothers me. When I feel an intense negative reaction to something, like anger or sadness or agitation, I try to stop everything I’m doing or wait until I’m in a private space and analyze and dive into it. This is also sometimes very painful and scary for me and I would personally benefit with improving how to do this, knowing when to do it and becoming more efficient. I have found it is much easier and safer for me to see limiting beliefs in others than myself. I love this work and find it increasingly more important the more I throw myself into it. Looking back, I wish I had taken it way more seriously sooner. Hope this helps, Chris
