Integrity or Money Making — What’s More Important?
When I took a humans design certification course, one of the things I learned was that the world is shifting into doing business with more integrity. As it is right now, People manufacture products and push for destructive choices so that they can profit off others’ innocence and ignorance. On one of the posts here we had a conversation about this and would like to invite you all to chime in. What are your thoughts about this? Article by Cristal VanCarson | SkoolMagazine Imagine opening your Skool DMs and finding a message that makes your heart sink. That's exactly what happened to me! I received what looked like an official message from Skool Trust & Safety, complete with a Skool logo and a convincing warning. The message claimed my account had been temporarily restricted because of a payment verification failure. WHAT?! It said my communities and posts were no longer visible, my ability to post and access groups and courses had been blocked, and even my payments and memberships were suspended! After nearly a year of building my communities, making friendships, creating content, and pouring my heart into Skool, you can imagine how I felt. My heart sank. I thought they had frozen my account! And then came the part that made me suspicious. They wanted me to click a link to resolve the payment issue, warning that they could permanently suspend my account if I didn't act. Something didn't feel right. I didn't click the link. Instead, I hovered over the sender's profile picture, which displayed the Skool logo, and investigated the profile. A quick Google check helped me identify the message as a scam. That official-looking account wasn't Skool Trust & Safety. It was an impersonator! And suddenly, the whole thing made sense. They weren't trying to help me protect my account. They were trying to scare me into giving them access! 📸 Here's what I learned: - Just because a profile displays the Skool logo doesn't mean it's an official Skool account. - Scammers use urgency, fear, and suspension threats to pressure you into clicking. - Never enter payment information or login credentials through a suspicious DM link. - Verify account warnings through Skool's official website or support channels. - Report suspicious messages and profiles.
