DimeBag Darrell D.R. strings... and the ones he used are , in my opinion, the best... they're 50-38-28-16-11-9 ... so, heavy n deep on the top strings & high n lite on the bottom strings... for heavy rhythms and screaming high lead tones... 2nd choice is G.H.S. Boomers
Trial & Error Can Look Intentional
Been working on the enclosure design for my coffin delay pedal “Eternal Decay” and this was one of those moments where mistakes actually turned into something cool. The first burn didn’t come out how I wanted… so I ran it again. And again. And again. Wrong settings and fixing alignment issues ended up with me literally burning over previous burns, which created this accidental shadow/ghosting effect around the text. But looking at it now, it almost feels intentional, like a worn, haunted aesthetic. You can see the difference in the pictures: - One version has that layered “shadow” look from multiple passes - The final burn came out clean once I dialed in the settings Perfect example of how trial and error is part of the process—sometimes the “mistake” actually give you ideas you wouldn’t have planned. On the circuit side, I’ve also been tweaking my delay design. It’s getting really close—just a few final adjustments and it’ll be ready for a full sound test 👀🔊🎵🎶 But I’m curious: 👉 Would you keep the shadowed “imperfect” version for character? 👉 Or go with the clean, crisp final look?

I voted ""clean/ crisp"" only because a new user, being quick to test it out, may not know dial placement/ adjustments right away...until they've tried every possible combination of dial settings... but this is very rad piece and really touched my heart when I saw the post... interested in seeing more of it In the future

George Washington's guitar would be made from the Cherry tree he chopped down.... Ben Franklin's is the first electric guitar.... & Abraham Lincoln's would be an ""axe"" themed bass guitar .... but I vote for ""#1 Washington & Lincoln "" ... ironic that they both had a thing for "axes"....

1 pedal only
If you could only have 1 guitar pedal, which one would you choose and why?

GNX 3 or GNX4 .... just the manuals for these are as big as an encyclopedia... you can customize a drum beat , play a rhythm on it...then loop it so that you can play &record your 2nd guitar track or lead with it!!...im not tech savvy, so for me, the possibilities are infinite...seemingly... not realistically... but you can download new software into it .... and so on.... if these things were robots from the future , sent back in time to conquer humans....then these are ""Terminators""(T-800 & T-1000).. and John Conner is "Guitarded AF".. metaphorically speaking

@Billy T Scrapper yea ...I had failed to mention that GNXs are literally a thing of the past now ....which for a guy like me , it's both intriguing and extremely terrifying.... I fail to keep pace with the times & new technology .... so for me everything is either "second hand" and/or "best bang for the buck"... but if you dont mind me asking.... can you , personally , expect the same or better performance from the SOLISVENTUS?.. is it something you expect to use for a while??..
Line 6 Spider IV
I bought a new/used amp. A Line 6 Spider IV 15 watt amp. It's a badass little amp and I got a heck of a deal on it. The lady was asking $50, I offered her $40 and she accepted. I checked them out and they run between $80 to $120 used, plus shipping. It's in great condition and has decent effects/delays built-in. The amp models, or channels, sound great. They are labeled correctly. Clean, Crunch, Metal, Insane. The insane is exactly that! It's the Metal channel on steroids. Great amp, best $40 I've spent on equipment.

Rad... I just scored a 120 watt Line 6 spider... its 2 ×12 inch celestions... and it ""thumps" the windows in a house... but any of these amps are , in my opinion good , modern tech .... state of the art too someone like me , who isnt very tech savvy... so I agree with " Badass" as your choice of word here , David... Badass AF...
