Loss in my explosive power
I’ve noticed a significant decline in my explosive power, like my ability to jump around and bounce, step down from things. It’s actually kind of scary and realize it’s been a skill that I’ve lost specifically over the last two years…anybody else in this space? I think I need box jumps and jump rope back in my routine…kind of scary actually.

I think I would consider myself more of a jumping athlete than bodybuilder but I've learned jumping is hard on the body no matter how you do it. The way dunkers get jumps in even when they are injured may help you. I think they just take a very long warmup and start jumping say 20 percent and go up from there. And they use pain to let them know when to cut the session

@Sarah Oase I feel that for sure. The scariest thing I ever did in the gym was jump off a 50 in box lol
Cardio
How often are yall doing cardio? Only during prep or pretty regularly every week? I'm trying to decide if buying a cardio machine is worth it. I know it'll be nice to have for these last 3 weeks of prep but after that I'm not sure. I know I'm going to have a garage gym soon but I don't want it collecting dust in there. Im buying used so I guess I could always resell it after..

@James Johnson I do notice my hrv getting better from all the cardio. I'm going to try to get a good marketplace deal on something.

@Christine Reinhart I did see those also. That does seem like it would be clutch especially with this Texas heat to not have to be outside so much. I sometimes will just pace inside the house lol
Refeed day
It's harder than i thought to get 300g of carbs... So anyone have convenient carbs that are easy to find at like a gas station and won't mess up my digestion?

I like rice and had plenty of it. I just forgot to do the math earlier and now dinner already passed and don't feel like eating just rice by itself lol. Ah drinking some Gatorade is clutch
Some questions for those who use health/fitness trackers.
I'm curious to know what fitness trackers people on the team are using, what information you pay attention to, and finally, if/how the data you're keeping an eye on may potentially influence your subsequent actions and behaviours. I have my own opinions, but I'm curious to know if and how others in the group choose to use (or ignore) the data from these devices.

@Christine Reinhart recently use it alot to count my steps and keep an eye on calories burned. But also like sleep performance, sleep need, strain and recovery. I don't find myself really changing anything except maybe getting myself to bed earlier
How does exercise impact pain?
Just curious and wanted to see your thoughts and opinions on and reflections related to this. In what ways do you view exercise has impacted how you approach having pain? Has having an injury or chronic pains impacted you and your training? And what do you think contributes to pain improving?

@James Johnson I think for me it has affected my training. Something that I heard that helps is training is written in pencil and I'm ok with adjusting my training whether with lower volume, less rom or lower weight. And pain is good as long as it returns to baseline the next day. What helps my knee the most is getting my squat and lunge workload up
