Nice. Congratulations!
Everyone Got the Claude Watermark Wrong
This is the first of many things that came of this weekend's research run and using my Claude time for the week in two days! Close to 4000 emails were analyzed, combined organized and what came of it is 4 books, 24 articles and a possible future class for sale. This is the article that created the Provenance Assurance Layer in WCP. ***** In August, one of the largest online-writing schools told its list that Anthropic's new watermarking would punish lazy writers and reward everyone else. Copy and paste straight from Claude, you get marked. Use AI the smart way, for brainstorming and remixing and expanding your own drafts, and you're fine. It's a comforting argument. It's also wrong, and it's wrong in a way that matters if you write books. I wrote a first version of this correction the week the announcement landed, and I got half of it right. This is the version with the other half in it. What happened in August On 11 August 2026, Anthropic confirmed it would embed machine-readable marks in content Claude generates or processes. Text carries an imperceptible watermark. Files carry signed provenance metadata using the C2PA standard. Almost nobody covering this mentioned why it happened. Compliance drove it. Article 50 of the EU AI Act obliges providers to mark synthetic content in a machine-readable format, and those transparency obligations took effect on 2 August 2026. Anthropic signed the associated Code of Practice in July, alongside roughly 190 other signatories. Behind Article 50 sit fines of up to 15 million euros or 3 percent of worldwide turnover. That distinction matters, because a company acting on principle can change its mind. A company acting on regulation cannot, and every other major provider carries the same obligation. Models launched on or after 2 August support marking at launch, and as of early September the two Anthropic names in that group are both from its 5.1 generation. Older models sit in a transition period with 2 December 2026 attached to it. That date comes from the AI Omnibus provisional agreement reached in May 2026, which gives generative systems already on the market before 2 August until then to meet the machine-readable marking requirement. It's a grace period with a statute behind it, not a deadline someone picked.

@Tiffany Hall I kind of have the same feeling. Currently, there are going to be people that even if you have "1%" AI that it is tainted and you should be shamed. If the readers don't know either way they will just judge the book on whether or not they enjoyed it - which really should be the primary criteria.

Your provenance document sounds very interesting, I would just hate to be required to have such a document. All of this sours me from even attempting mainstream publishing again.
Something fun...
Put the following prompt into your favorite Ai image generator I did chatgot and gemini below. Using everything you know about me, separate my heart from my mind and create a cinematic image. Show them as two different versions of me. Use symbolism instead of words. Don’t explain anything. Just show me.

Cool. This is what I got:
I Broke a Cardinal Rule Today....
NEVER give anything away for free. for the Sell it Again book I should have put up a landing page asking for email addresses and i did not. I shared it in several groups here on skool and several author sites on facebook. The potential eyeballs for the free book is something North of 180,000 people in the various groups. All authors, all who really should grab a copy. The one thing I CAN do is revise the book in a few months and everyone who has downloaded it will get a notice that it has been updated. Still not an email address for my list though. ALWAYS...ALWAYS get the email addresses if you can. When distributing online it is the only true traffic you own. Skool could shutdown today and i would lose the most recent folks (I do download the list from here now and again. Facebook bans you and locks you out. You Instagram account gets hacked... All things that could happen at any day and all of the carefully cultivated traffic on your socials is gone. SMDH!!

Freebie of the Week!
For my talk tomorrow night I wrote something new and useful to all. Three weeks of research and the completeion of LayouitCrafter in WCP brings you: Sell It Again: 141 Ways to Make Money From A Book You Already Wrote You published a book. You're refreshing your KDP dashboard, watching a handful of sales trickle in, and everyone's advice boils down to the same nine ideas: ebook, paperback, audiobook, maybe a course, write the next one. Nine is not the number. Nine is what you get when you only count sales. Sales is one category out of eleven. The actual number, once you count formats separately from channels, channels separately from rights, and rights separately from the statutory money that governments in thirty-five countries are holding for authors who never fill out a form, is 141. Sell It Again catalogs every single one of them — from the afternoon fixes that cost nothing (update your back matter, claim your Public Lending Right money, open the deleted scenes folder) to the career-scale plays (foreign rights, special editions, AI training licenses, shared-world licensing). Each entry tells you what the stream is, how the money actually works, what it takes to build, and the one specific mistake most authors make. This is not a motivational book. It is an inventory of assets you already own — rights, formats, channels, and knowledge — and a map of every place those assets can earn. Most full-time authors run somewhere between eight and twenty of these streams. This book shows you the rest. Because the money you're missing isn't exotic. It's sitting in seven ordinary places, and it's missing for ordinary reasons. One of them is that nobody told you it was there. 240 Pages of the many (141 so far) ways to make money from your books. Now Here's the best part.....The link below will get you the book for free starting tomorrow and for the next five days! I'm starting out with this one free for a couple of reasons. There are supposed to be umm.. more than a few folks at this demo i'm giving tomorrow night and I wrote this as a free giveaway that would be useful to all writers. And this is a test to see how many reviews will affect the Kindle algrithm.
