A post I didn't expect to write so soon.. Taking a little break. 🤍
My mom passed away on Thursday. Even though we knew this moment would come because she has been sick for a long time, it still somehow hits you in a way you're never fully prepared for. The last few days have been a whirlwind of phone calls, family at the door, arrangements to make, and more love and messages than I've ever received in my life. ❤️ I'll be offline this upcoming week to be with my family and to give this moment the space it deserves. 🤍 Live sessions will be postponed until further notice and I'll pick everything back up in September. Thank you for being such a kind and supportive community. It means more than you know. 🙂

@Bianca Vogelaar , I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. Sending you and your family love and strength during this time. Please give yourself full permission to feel everything, cry when you need to, be still when you need to, and take every bit of time you need to process this. There's no timeline on grief, and no right way to move through it. Praying you feel comforted and held in these coming days. Sending you love 🤍🕊️
The best part about being a digital nomad isn't working from a beach.
I've been working remotely and freelancing since 2015, and one of the biggest lessons I've learned is that location freedom and business freedom aren't the same thing. You can technically work from anywhere and still feel completely tied to your laptop. I've been there. The difference came when I stopped thinking only about how to get clients and started thinking about how to build a business that could support the life I actually wanted. That meant: → Creating processes so I wasn't reinventing the wheel for every client. → Setting expectations around communication instead of feeling like I needed to be available 24/7. → Learning how to manage multiple clients without letting everything become an emergency. → Building skills that allowed me to work with clients across different countries and time zones. → And, perhaps most importantly, learning that freedom requires structure. Because ironically, the more freedom I wanted, the more intentional I had to become about how I ran my business. That's something I wish more people talked about when they talk about freelancing and the digital nomad lifestyle. The goal isn't simply to work from anywhere. The goal is to build work that gives you the ability to choose where, when and how you work. The laptop-on-the-beach photo is cute. But being able to take a month-long trip without your income completely falling apart? That's the real flex. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞: 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭?
👋 Hey Remote Income School fam!
I'm Destiny operations strategist, and digital nomad. Being location-independent isn't just a lifestyle choice for me, it's changed the entire shape of my life. I've traveled to 47 countries while building my business, and along the way I did something I'm really proud of I hired my siblings to work with me. Watching remote work become something that changed my family's life, not just mine, is one of the things I'm most grateful for. I'm up and running and always growing deep in operations, systems, and helping women navigate reinvention through my own community, OutBloom Collective. But I'm also just someone who genuinely loves this life and this work, and I'm here to learn from this community as much as I am to contribute to it. Excited to connect with other freelancers building something real 🤍

@Bianca Vogelaar oh for sure 😊
Why I'm not worried about AI taking freelance jobs 👀
Can we talk about the whole "𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯" panic for a sec? 😅 Because I think we're looking at it all wrong 👀 Freelancers working on AI related projects are earning 44% more per hour. And demand for freelancers that work WITH AI is up 109% this year 🤯 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀. It's replacing freelancers who refuse to work WITH it 👀 You don't need to reinvent yourself. You just need to start combining what you already do (or what you will learn) with AI tools. 🙌 Social media manager? Use AI to batch content faster and deliver more value. 🔥 Copywriter? Use AI to ideate and outline while your voice is still what they're paying for. 💸 VA? Use AI to automate and handle more clients without burning out. 🙌 The skill didn't become worthless. It became 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 valuable 🚀 This is honestly one of the biggest opportunities for freelancers right now and I don't think enough people are talking about it. 🥹 Are you already using AI in your work? And does this change how you think about it? Drop your thoughts below 👇

I has honestly made me faster at the operational side of my business batching content, streamlining systems but the parts that actually make me irreplaceable are still the judgment calls and the relationships. I think that's the real shift: the tools free up the busywork so the human skill gets to matter even more 🤍
A personal note from me 🥹
I want to share something personal today. 🙂 Some of you might have noticed Kevin's session didn't happen yesterday. I had to step away to take care of something important, my mom has been going through a really difficult time health wise and yesterday was one of those days that needed my full attention. I won't go into too much detail but I do want to say this 👇 Life will always throw things at you. Hard things. Unexpected things. Things that have nothing to do with your business but affect everything anyway. And it's not easy to keep going when you're carrying something heavy. I know that. But I also know that the goals we're building towards matter. Not more than the people we love of course, But they matter. And showing up, even imperfectly, even on the hard days, is still showing up. 💖 Kevin's session will be rescheduled soon and I'll share the new date as soon as it's confirmed. 🙌 To everyone going through something hard right now while still trying to build something, I see you. Keep going.🔥 Come say hi in the community, start a post about something that's on your mind, or let us know what kind of help you need in your business journey right now. 😊
