🪴 COMMON GROUND: What's YOUR warning label? 😂
Apparently, we've all been walking around without the proper documentation. Let's fix that. If YOU came with a warning label, what would yours say? Maybe... ⚠️ Needs coffee before conversation. ⚠️ Will stop to pet every dog. ⚠️ Overthinks EVERYTHING. ⚠️ May randomly burst into song. ⚠️ Approach with snacks. 😂 I'll go first... I've joked for years that I don't actually need a warning label. The red hair IS the warning label. 🔥😂 My fellow redheads understand. IYKYK. Although Todd might add: ⚠️ May turn one innocent "What if..." into a 47-minute brainstorming session. 😂 Okay, your turn. 👇 What's YOUR warning label? The more ridiculous, the better.

Drop Your Skool Community Card and Link to Your Own Community
It's our 60 day celebration party here on Skool, and since we're going live at the top of every hour, we figured we'd run something simple alongside it. In the comments, drop your community card (aka profile image) and your own about page link. That's it, nothing else. The idea is to help everyone see what everyone else is building, and it makes it a lot easier for us to spot you when your ads come across our feeds. As a little bonus, I'll be running some of your cards through a few creative variations. Think of it as a fun what if, not a critique. (I'm even wearing my creativity shirt) So if your community is up and running, post your about page link and attach your current community card below.

🔨 What if we're asking the wrong question?
We’ve been thinking about some of our conversations this week around getting members more comfortable starting conversations of their own. Not just responding to what WE post. Not just showing up when there’s a prompt. Actually feeling comfortable enough to say: “Here’s what I’m working on.” “I tried this and it didn’t quite work.” “Can I get your eyes on something?” “I have an idea…” And it got us wondering... Maybe the question isn’t only: How do we get members to post more? Maybe there’s another question worth asking: Have we intentionally designed a space that makes it easier for them to know WHAT they can share? Hmmm. 🤔 Because sometimes community design isn’t about adding more. Sometimes it’s looking at what we already have and asking whether it’s creating the experience and behaviors we actually want. So...I’ve been tinkering with something inside Skoolology today. 🔨 In the spirit of letting you see more of OUR messy middle, I thought I’d bring you into the build before it’s finished. More soon. 😏

@Kelly S. Kelly Yes! And I think that’s what I love most about it, Kelly. We don’t have to pretend we have all the answers. We can ask the questions, try things, share what happens, and figure some of it out together. 💜🔨

@Helen Harris That’s such an important angle, Helen. ❤️ Sometimes silence isn’t because members don’t have anything to contribute. They may simply be reading the room and trying to figure out what they have permission to do. And if the owner is doing most of the posting, that can unintentionally become the pattern everyone follows. Making the invitation clear from the start may be a much bigger piece of community design than we realize. Thank you for adding this. 💜🤗 This is how we all become better builders!
We’ve Been Building Something Behind the Scenes...
Todd and I have been doing a LOT of thinking, talking, questioning, and designing around one big question: How can Skoolology help you become not just a better community builder, but a stronger business builder, too? And we’re ready to let you in on what we’ve been working on. We just added a short new series to the Classroom: The Skoolology Journey: What We’re Building Next Inside, we’ll give you a first look at: - The new competency-based learning experience we’re designing - Why your path will be personalized to what YOU need - The Professor, Guide, and Explorer pandas and what they have to do with your journey - Our bigger vision for helping Skoolologists become Multipliers - What begins rolling out in September But there’s another reason we want you to watch. We don’t want to finish designing this without you. Throughout the lessons, we’re asking questions and inviting your feedback because your goals, challenges, and ideas will help us decide what we build first. So head over to the Classroom, watch the short series, and jump into the conversations. 👉 START HERE: What We're Building Next We have some pretty big ideas. Now we want to hear yours.

@Kelly S. Kelly I’m sure this will help others, too. 💜 Sometimes the hardest part is simply saying, “I don’t know how to do this yet.” There are probably people reading your comment who have some of the exact same questions but haven’t felt comfortable asking them. That’s one thing I really want us to change here. You shouldn’t have to already know how to build an online business to ask for help building one. If you don’t ask, you can stay stuck for a long time. Sometimes long enough to give up. So keep asking, Kelly. Your questions aren’t just helping you. They’re helping us see what we need to make clearer for everyone. 💜

🔬 What Should We Investigate Next?
We’ve spent the last two months digging into: 🎯 Outcomes: Are members making meaningful progress? 💰 Money: How does your community create and support value? (We'll be sharing our Behind the Build sessions all next week. Yahoo!) Special thanks to builders @Jen Ps @Michael Wacht @Jenny Rader-Bakos @Lisa Vanderveen and more to come! Yay! September is almost here, which means it’s time to point our magnifying glass at another part of SkoolMe. 🔍 But here's the thing... None of these pillars stand alone. Better onboarding can improve engagement. Stronger kinship can support outcomes. Clearer substance can make monetization easier. Leadership influences all of it. We separate the pillars so we can study them more closely, but we're always looking at how they work together. So, where would digging deeper help YOUR community most right now? 📚 Substance Is what you offer clear, useful, and worth coming back for? 🤝 Kinship Are members building meaningful relationships with each other? 🚪 Onboarding Do new members know where to start and experience an early win? 🧭 Leadership Are you leading in a way that supports the community you want to create? 💬 Engagement Are members participating in ways that actually matter? 👇 Cast your vote! Whichever area rises to the top, we'll spend September observing what's happening in our communities, testing small changes, comparing notes, and seeing what we discover together. Not sure what to vote for? This might be a great time to retake your free SkoolMe Snapshot. And if you've taken it before, compare the two. Has your priority changed? Has your community changed? Or are you simply seeing it differently because of what you've learned? Now I'm curious... 🔬 Where should we investigate next?

@Kelly S. Kelly Kelly, I think we all have those moments. ❤️ But from where I sit, I see someone who keeps learning, asking questions, trying things, and moving forward even when she isn't completely sure of herself. That's something worth recognizing. Give yourself a little more credit. 💜
