Does meaningful have to start deep? 👀
A conversation with @Elsebeth Fogh got me thinking about this. She’s been experimenting with some easier-to-answer questions in her community and noticing that more people seem willing to jump in. But she doesn’t want easy to answer to become meaningless to answer. And THAT got my attention. 👀 Because maybe sometimes we make people work too hard just to enter a meaningful conversation. A good conversation doesn’t necessarily have to start with a thoughtful paragraph. It might start with... “Yep. Me too.” A quick opinion. A funny story. 😂 One sentence that makes someone else say... “Wait...tell me more about that.” And suddenly we’re somewhere deeper. So maybe there are two different things to think about: How easy is it to ENTER the conversation? and Where can the conversation GO once someone is there? That brings me back to a question that's been on my mind lately... What is the biggest thing keeping the next member from getting the experience you want them to have? Maybe sometimes people aren't avoiding meaningful conversation. Maybe the doorway into it is just a little too high. I'd love to hear from you... What have you found actually helps people take that first little step into a conversation? 👀 @Elsebeth Fogh Thank you for bringing this in!🤗

"I once wrote a three-paragraph question about meaningful engagement. I got one reply. It was me, checking if the comments were working."
📌What Should You Improve Next in Your Community?
Most community builders don't need more ideas.🚦 They need to know what deserves their attention first. Maybe... • Members join but disappear. • Conversations depend on you. • You're working harder than ever but aren't seeing the progress you hoped for. • You know something needs attention...you just don't know what. The truth is... You can't improve everything at once. The fastest way to build a healthier community is to identify the one area that will create the biggest impact. That's why we created the Community Snapshot. In about 5 minutes, you'll discover: ✅ Your community's strongest area. ✅ Your biggest opportunity for improvement. ✅ The one thing I'd focus on first. Your first win isn't a perfect community. It's finally knowing what to improve next. 👉 Step 1 and 👉 Step 2 Access the free SkoolMe Snapshot and share your results here: 📊 Community Snapshot Results & Personalized Feedback I'll personally help interpret your scores and suggest where I'd begin. 👉 Step 3 Ready to improve your score instead of simply knowing it? Join this month's 30-Day Community Improvement Sprint. One month. One focus. One meaningful improvement. Because better communities aren't built by guessing. They're built by improving the right thing at the right time.

This one came from YOU. ❤️ You've been telling us what you're working on, where you're stuck, and what you need next. And the ideas were too good to leave scattered across the comments. So let's be clear about who gets the credit here. We didn't come up with these. You did. All we did was gather what you said and put it into a checklist. Some of you will recognize your own words below. 😂 Read through it, notice where you hesitate, and pick ONE. 🚪 FIRST IMPRESSIONS ☐ My About page says who this is for, what problem it solves, and what members can do after joining. ☐ I have one pinned "start here" post with a first action that takes under a minute. ☐ Every onboarding step is clear enough that a non-technical member can follow it without asking for help. ☐ Each new member gets a personal welcome by name within 24 hours. 💬 JOINING THE CONVERSATION ☐ My posts end with one clear question, not three. ☐ I mix easy entry points (a poll, one word, a quick opinion) with deeper prompts. ☐ When someone gives a short answer, I follow up with "tell me more about that." ☐ There's a regular non-business thread where members get to know each other as people. 🤝 MEMBER-TO-MEMBER CONNECTION ☐ I've looked at my recent active posts to see whether members reply to each other or only to me. ☐ I tag members into threads where their experience is relevant. ☐ I spotlight a member and their work on a regular schedule. ☐ Members start a meaningful share of the posts, and that share is growing. 🗓️ RHYTHM AND STRUCTURE ☐ My categories are few, and each has an obvious purpose. ☐ Recurring posts land on predictable days. ☐ My calendar always shows a live touchpoint coming up soon. ☐ I've removed what members aren't using, so there's less to keep up with. 🌟 PROOF AND NEXT STEPS ☐ I collect member wins as they happen, not only when I need a testimonial. ☐ The path from free member to my paid offer or next step is clear and stated in one place. 📊 FOCUS AND MEASUREMENT ☐ I ask every new member how they found me.

Big news! Tomorrow we're launching our new community, Community Clarity. Rest assured, everything here in Skoolology will stay exactly the same and we'll be bringing in what we learn. In the video, I walk through what we're building it and why. If you're a paid member of Skoolology, you're welcome to join Community Clarity for free. Keep an eye on your inbox, because I'll be sending out email invitations later tonight. DM me tomorrow if you don't see it. Drop your 1-10 insanity score about me in the comments! 🤪

@Virgel Nel I'll happily take a 3. 😉
Our friend Mikael is launching something new on Monday. ❤️
A free community where he’s going to work toward his first 100 members by doing what @Mikael Van gogh does best... Being human, building real relationships, making connections, and giving value without expecting something in return. What I especially love? He’s building it where people can see the BUILD. What will he try? What gets people to lean in? What doesn’t? What will he learn along the way? That’s the kind of experiment we love around here. 😎 So today, I simply wanted to give Mikael a little Skoolology love as he gets ready to put his new build out into the world. ❤️ Mikael, you’ve brought so much energy, humor, encouragement, and YOU into this room. We’re excited for you, my crazy friend from Spain. 🤣❤️ Go build your thing. We’ll be cheering you on!

@Mikael Van gogh Best of luck!
COMMON GROUND ❤️ Look at us. 😂
Somehow, this little corner of Skoolology has revealed that among us we have... 🦄 Sparkly unicorns and unicorn onesies. 🐯 A Tigger pajama holder. 🚐 A VW van. 🔮 Magical books, tarot cards, and some VERY interesting reading material. 😂 🎳 A kid-sized bowling alley in Great Aunt Alice’s attic. 🥤 A fascination with strange new soda flavors. 📺 Strong opinions about EVEN-numbered TV volume. 🍽️ Equally strong opinions about how to load a dishwasher. 😂 🎶 Songs we’d grab the microphone for...and songs we absolutely would NOT. 📖 A grandmother’s recipe book that we wish had existed. ☎️ And a phone we wish could call someone we miss. ❤️ And that’s barely scratching the surface. We came here because we’re building communities. But somewhere between all the building, we’ve learned... who needs three minutes before anyone asks where their trousers are... who considers half a tank dangerously close to empty... who loves books, travel, coffee, pets, music, Disney, and a whole collection of wonderfully random things. 😂 I love that we’re getting to know the people behind the communities. ❤️ So let’s keep adding to our very strange Skoolology collection... What’s ONE thing about you that we haven’t discovered yet? 👇
