Friends
I have friends who don’t want to change and do better . Still stuck wearing the stuff from days gone past . How do you handle changing for the better when others don’t?

If you are dumping friends because they won't follow your style journey you are not a good friend. Let them be who they want to be. They haven't dumped you for being stylish.
A Gentleman's Vocabulary
"Unique" and "data" are used wrong all the time! I firmly believe that using our words carefully and accurately is a central aspect of being a well-intentioned gentleman. Vocabulary ensures that what we say is accurately understood by our audience (online and in person). Vocabulary is also the single strongest predictor of overall intelligence on standardized intelligence tests (this was my field of research for about a decade). In order to avoid this coming across as elitist, I want to stress that the two guidances below - certainly pet peeves of mine - are words we use every day rather than something only used in rarified academia or by some PhD on a sartorial forum... 🤓 Unique: its simple definition is "one of a kind". This is dichotomous, like a light is on or off. No in between. Therefore, nothing can be "really unique", or "largely unique" or nearly any other modifier applied to it. When something is not one of a kind, we still like "unique" because it sounds stronger than what we should probably say: very rare. It is, however, wrong and inaccurately conveys our intent. The only appropriate modifier for unique is something which clarifies the noun is becoming unique. If only three of something remain in the world and one is destroyed, saying the final two are "nearly unique" is appropriate. Data: this word is ALWAYS a plural. Datum is the word to describe a single piece of data. This is just like saying "this people is funny" when we mean "this person is funny". As a statistician, you can only begin to imagine how much this drives me nuts because of its near omnipresent use. "These data are impressive" may sound weird at first, but it is the only grammatically appropriate way to say it. I hope this was helpful and not pedantic!

People think there are degrees of 'iconic-ness' as well, which irritates me.
Question
When you look at yourself in the mirror ... When you choose an item of clothing to wear in the morning ... When you choose an item of clothing to buy from a shop or an online store ... What are you hoping to achieve? Do you want to look like you fit in with what you perceive 'your type of person' to be? Do you want to stand out from others who are 'your type of person'? Do you want to look strong and dependable? Artistic and sensitive? Mature and wise? Sexy and attractive 'in that way'? What is your 'goal' beyond keeping warm and not being arrested for indecency?

@Donis Heard That is a very useful list and it's good they don't just recommend things but say why they work. Let us know how things work out ...

I'd say a solid 10. It's all sharp and the lines are clean and the colours are neat. And you are smiling confidently. Confidence in the face of the wearer is a strong determinant of whether clothes look good.
OOTD - Thursday 20 August
Thursday is the days I drop my daughter off to school, it is also the day I go into the office. I forgot to bring my gimbal stand to work today, this meant I was restricted in getting my outfit photos today. So by sitting my phone in a lower sport at the base of the stairs I grabbed a few outfit shots, plus a sneaky shot in the boardroom. I am again trying some different ideas and colour palettes, today with a Grey Suit and then some Reds and Whites, plus a little colour play of Purple and Burgundy which is a play on those reds. Todays outfit consists of; M.J. Bale Ashford Suit, crafted from 100% pure Australian Merino wool in a Melange Grey Charles Tyrwhitt Cutaway Collar Stretch Kensington Weave Shirt in Lilac Purple M.J. Bale Faded Red and White Rep Stripe Tie OTAA Silver Bond Tie Clip OTAA Ruby Eye Cufflinks OTAA White Pocket Square with Red Edge Anson Ox Blood Strap With a Traditional Buckle in Gunmetal M.J. Bale Agyle Socks in Grey/Black with pink Stripes Ivassi 1973 Bespoke Semi Brogue Monkstrap In Burgundy SOTD - JPG LeMale Elixir WOTD - Invicta Grand Diver - Aka Big Red Missing from photo’s is my M.J. Bale DB Herringbone coat that I was wearing yesterday

That staircase is a gift! Love these shots. In my mind the 'looking at the watch' pose is simply 'Chad pose' as you nail it every time.
