1972 Chevy K20
I am doing a frame up resto mod on a 1972 Chevy 4X4 K20 Custom. Looking at buying a 6.0LS and 4L80E. I am looking at buying a complete Truck so I can get everything I need. I am in need of opinions on what years are the best for the swap. Thinking 2002 to 2007. What are your Thoughts?

Thanks for the information. What would you rather have a gen 3 or gen 4? What are the pros and cons of the different gens?

1972 Chevy Custom K20 Tore down to bare frame. Frame is powder coated and starting the reassembly. Front axle is on. Transfer case is rebuilt and in. New powder coated springs. New brake lines. Installed high mount cross over steering. In the process of looking for a donor vehicle for 6.0LS, 4L80E, and other necessary harnesses and hardware.
