Living Your Life, or Just Going Through the Motions?
I have been thinking about this for a while. I looked at my calendar for the week and realized I couldn't tell it apart from the week before. Same calls. Same fires. If you'd swapped the two calendars, I wouldn't have noticed. That's not a business problem. That's a life on autopilot. Autopilot is sneaky Nobody wakes up and decides to sleepwalk through a decade. It happens one reasonable choice at a time. You take the client you don't want because the money is fine. You keep the offer that pays because changing it sounds exhausting. You skip the thing you actually care about because it isn't urgent. Ten years of reasonable choices later, you're running a business you never actually chose. The 5-minute check Set a timer. Answer honestly. Nobody is grading you. - If nothing changed for three more years, would you be okay with that? If your stomach dropped, you have your answer. - What's on your calendar this week that you'd cancel if there were zero consequences? That list is the real problem. - When did you last do something for the first time? Growth and novelty travel together. - Who are you building this for? If you can't name them, your "why" is missing, and motivation keeps leaking out the bottom. - What would 22-year-old you say about your Tuesday? Brutal question. Best one on the list. The fix is smaller than you think You don't need to blow up your agency or move to Costa Rica or buy a boat or sports car. Pick one thing off that cancel list and kill it this week. One client, one standing meeting, one commitment you only keep out of guilt. Just one. Then put something you actually want in that empty slot. Not a task. A thing. That's how you take the wheel back. One slot at a time. For me, the word that keeps me honest is defiance. I didn't start this to build a job with worse hours and no boss to blame. I started it to prove I could build something on my own terms. When a week starts looking like everybody else's week, that word snaps me back.

I look at what I do every week and it's so routine from morning to night, I'm bored with myself. I could cancel, but I won't, one of my workout classes. I need that time out of the household rut that I said bores me. I haven't been on a real vacation lately, so I plan to go to Mexico and spend time with my friends for Independence Day. My 22 year old self is still asking me why I don't go out more and enjoy the day or evening with local friends. Need to work on that!!
I started building a thing
I'm am very pro freedom, In the past I have run for office and been very vocal about my position on things. But for the past few years I sort of stepped back from it. I decided my blogging will resume and to that end. I've created a word press site the beginnings of it are here: https://dreadpiratedorn.com/ Let me know what you think...

Every word is true. Love the site. Keep it up!
I'm gobsmacked...
I have a heavy, heavy heart tonight. Today I learned my friend Norm Thomas passed away. He was a great guy, loved cooking, loved marketing, loved his dog and was always willing to help people. He will be sorely missed. Via Con Dios, Brother.

So sorry to hear about Norm. He seemed to know a lot and shared what he did. That is a big loss to this community.

This week: 1. Change my work venue. I will work from the library 3 days a week to minimize distractions that I have at home. 2. I will run RepFinder to get new leads and clean those leads to ready them for emailing out to prospects. 3. I will work on my CC client's GBP postings posts and images 4. I will continue cleaning my junked up computer. Almost have the downloads cleaned out. Went from 189 GB free to 235 GB free from cleaning out old files in the download folder. Set up files on D: drive and archived orginized folders Last Week: 1. Started cleaning computer. Eliminated loads of junk off of the computer 2. Ran Socispy for leads 3. Got RepFinder finally working and transitioning from Socispy to Repfinder to get better information on leads
