At Watches and Wonders 2026, Cartier presented a Santos de Cartier Chronograph with refined, tamer dimensions that brought the design down from Cartier's XL sizing to its large size – in line with the popular time and date Santos de Cartier. To be exact, the size has been reduced from what Cartier categorises as its XL size, which measured 43.3mm across, 51.4mm lug-to-lug, and 12.5mm thick. With the 2026 updated version we have here, those dimensions have reduced, now measuring 39.8mm wide, 47.5mm long, and 11.6mm thick. This means a chronograph is available in the Santos de Cartier line with the same 39.8mm width and 47.5mm lug-to-lug measurement as the time and date Santos de Cartier Large, but understandably, and laudably, just 1.8mm thicker due to the incorporation of a chronograph complication.
