WOTD — Starting the Week with a Little Craftsmanship 😎⌚️
Monday’s watch is my anOrdain. This is one of those watches that I enjoy for reasons that are a little different from many of the others in my collection. There’s no famous racing history attached to it. No moon landing. No decades-long pursuit. Instead, what drew me to anOrdain was the craft. The company is based in Glasgow, Scotland, and has become known for producing vitreous enamel dials using traditional techniques that are incredibly difficult to execute consistently. Each dial is individually made, fired, finished, and — because of the nature of enamel — develops its own character. That is a big part of what makes this watch so interesting to me. In these photos, the dial can look burgundy, plum, brown or almost smoky depending on the light. Move your wrist a few degrees and the entire personality of the watch seems to change. It’s subtle. But the longer you look, the more you see. And I think that is one of the things I’ve come to appreciate more as my collecting journey has evolved. Not every watch needs to announce itself from across the room. Sometimes the most interesting pieces are the ones that reward you for slowing down and actually looking at them. There is also something particularly satisfying about wearing a watch where you can see the evidence of traditional handcraft. As I continue learning more about watchmaking myself, I find that I’m becoming increasingly drawn to that side of the hobby — the people, the processes, and the skills that go into making something beautiful. So for the start of another week, this felt like a very good choice. A handmade enamel dial, a simple leather strap, and another Monday to be grateful for. Another week. Another opportunity to make some memories. And another watch along for the ride. 😎🙏

WOTD - The Jeffrey watch
The force is strong with this one, today were celebrating @Jeffrey Plotka who convinced me to buy this watch. I always said that if I ever bought a Seiko it would be the Alpinist.

Hey all, I’m primarily in the Brotherhood of Scent but I thought I’d come over here to check things out since I’ve recently gained interest in watches. Timex to Fossil to Bvlova to Apple Watch Ultra, so I clearly am new to this.
