I was around 14 yrs old when I got a bottle of Preferred Stock for xmas. I probably went through 5-8 bottles of the stuff during my high school years. Then when I moved out on my own, perfume was a luxury a poor working teen couldn't justify spending his money on... so i wore nothing, but deodorant, for many years. Wearing Sauvage Elixir today, and it has a faint resemblance to my old favorite. (They share a number of notes) What was you first fragrance? Is there a modern scent that reminds you of it?

Wearing this one again and lately it’s been on my rotation every week since I added it to my collection. Don’t let the “Sport” name fool you, it projects and lasts a good amount on skin and more on clothes.

I noticed while passing through duty free last month The Dreamer had a refresh of it's box (old one on the left, new on the right). So i think to myself have they reformulated. Looking at the ingredients on the back , theres more on the newer bottles, listing the addition of some natural oils, whether this is true or just a new requirement to list things that have always been there, i do not know. Now my existing bottle has a 2019 batch code, lovely on the initial spray, but quickly dissipates. So it may be age, or maybe my imagination, but the new one I picked up definitely seems to have had some work done in it, a bit more tobacco blossom, a bit more coumarin. Seems slightly stronger with a bit more longevity. Has reformultation worked in our favour for once? Be interesting to hear if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I'm a relative newbie, but I am curious about this group of fragrances. Please offer your best, most sincere advice for a 65-year-old father and grandfather who may be back on the market in the next year or so...

Here in the mid-Atlantic, we're having another brief cold snap so I'm on the fence for what to wear today. So I'm staying on the fence and revisiting my sample of Gentleman Society Extrême. I've wanted to get ONE bottle from Givenchy and I've sampled most of the line without being able to decide. This one might be the eventual winner. I like the powdery, woody feel of both this one and the Gentleman Society, but the additional note of coffee is interesting enough that I might go this direction. I wish I loved the Reserve Privée, but it just doesn't work for me. Back to the warm-weather scents later this week.
