@Snazzie Designz Yes! It’s so true that we’re dealing with unworthiness a lot of the time when we’re saving the nice things. Thank you for spelling it out like this 😍 There’s such a fine line between sending ourselves messages of worthiness and making feel-right matches in how we use things. For example, I have an easier time doing the messy kind of journaling if the blank book I’m using doesn’t have a fully-finished look to it; or I get easily distracted by pages that are highly decorated already. Setting aside the pretty-but-distracting journal for a later purpose that fits it can sometimes hold a door open for a future endeavor (like this red journal is turning out to be). Or, as you say, it can be an opportunity to say “not right now so I’m letting it go” (I have a harder time with this, partly bcs of coming from a family with Midwest US farmland-and-Great Depression roots where we save things for a rainy day and get really Excited! when something we have saved becomes finally useful! It does easily lend itself to holding onto more than I need, tho 🤦🏼♀️😬) I don’t quite know what tuned me into this difference (it was decades ago), but it’s such a helpful thing to have conversations with myself about it whenever it crops up — am I setting this aside because I don’t feel worthy of using it (or this project doesn’t feel “worthy” of it)? or am I setting it aside because the fit isn’t right for other, more practical reasons?
