Blood Glucose and spikes
@Maurice Daher How do you define a “spike?” Also, is it more desirable to eat w/i a non-spiking range? And, within a day, not including nights (where CGM showed I’m inthe 70s), what is an optimum range? Trying to dial this in a learn more….more than what the web has to offer, 70-140 as a range….. Thank you very much for this help. Karen

@Maurice Daher Today’s results B’fast before 84, immediately after 103, after walk 91, 1 hr @ 109, 2 hrs 102 Lunch before 88, immediately after 98, after walk 99, 1 hr 102, 2 hrs 89 Dinner before 85, immediately after dinner 100, after walk 86, 1 hrs 109, 2 hr 103 The walk is working, but then I rebound and don’t seem to get down…. On the one hand, I’m between 80 and 110 all day….and I start a meal at a reasonable level. My carb levels today were very low. One day is not a trend….just wondering what you might “hear” in this report. Two days ago, breakfast: 3 eggs scrambled and then 1/3 cup of oat bran w/ coco milk, blue berries, a dash of maple syrup and walnut butter. The solid protein start was brilliant (start at 91, immediately after 103, 1 hour walk 75 - this was before I started measuring 1 and 2 hrs…my before lunch was 96) Thank you!

@Maurice Daher PS: about an hour after I get up, I do my daily exercise - Before I start, I have a snack - 2 oz of protein (like chicken) and two trail nuggets (honey, coco oil, oatmeal, raisins, walnut butter and chopped walnuts rolled up into what’s about 3 bites). Afterwards, my breakfast includes a smoothie with creatine, collagen and L-Citrulline…I might include 1/2 avo, some kale or berries. Otherwise it’s 3 eggs and sausage. I’ve been testing that eating/exercise, too.
Moving HbA1C down
@Maurice Daher Good afternoon! My goal is to lower my A1C - I know the number I was last tested (5.8) and I want to be below 5.4…What’s your advice for an average (day time) BG level + a measurement strategy to get me there? I tried a CGM and it gave me a starting point. Also, is there any value in drawing a lab at the 1/2 way point to see if my plan is effective? See follow on question next! THank you, Karen

Thank you! Good sleep last night I’m sure had lots to do w/ my 89 when I woke up. Yesterday, I tinkered with carbs….didn’t go well (LOL!) and I continued to walk at intervals after testing, and walking didn’t move the dial down. Am thinking that if I overdo it, then the more I put in, the longer it takes to move along. Everything in moderation. Testing/tinkering is part of the fun of this as a learning lab! A1C is 5.8 and insulin is low…ditto CPR and glucose. That’s my conundrum. 80-110 gives me something to shoot for. Testing 1 hr and 2 hrs post is helpful, too. I’m glad I live in the woods…walking is a treat, and there are so many delightful options! I love my bed, and sleep is getting better as I grow in other ways… I appreciate your help here….Bless you. K
Natto
@Maurice Daher I’m confused between which might offer stronger benefits…Nattokinase or Bulouke….and for the nattokinase, what extraction and dosing (and other) information would help us as we shop? I’ve found this in particular. Thank you! https://www.fumanatural.com/cardiospes.html

@Maurice Daher As ever, so amazingly helpful! The cue to be alert to ASA and, say, Boluoke is an eye opener, as several docs have suggested both! Thank you!

@Maurice Daher Thank you! Brilliant coming together of myth and reality! Thank you, Maurice.
P&G to acquire THORNE!!!
Hello SkoolMates and @Maurice Daher Deah shared the post (see below) with me yesterday. She believes (as well as I do) that everyone is aware of this pending acquisition. I suspect that the ingredients and purity of THORNE products will eventually become manipulated once P&G finalizes this acquisition. As with many other conglomerate billion-dollar companies, each is slowly acquiring the smaller "health wellness" companies that many of us rely upon. These smaller companies can't refuse the billion dollar offers they're being offered to sell. According to a search, the acquisition should be finalized by the 4th QTR 2026. 😬😡 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbpOk46tdwB/
