First full day Notifications off & Inbox 0
So, today is the first full day with notifications off - let's share here how it feels. Were you able to sustain focus on one thing until the task was done? How often did you feel yourself abandoning what you were doing to peek in e-mail or chat - or phone? @Aiste Juknaite @Erica Jones @Kaspars Omuls @Elīna Balamovska A reminder for your Inbox today: Clear it to Zero at the end of the day - Take each unprocessed e-mail in your inbox - Ask: What needs to be done here? (if it is just FYI, skip to the last step) - Write that in your main to-do list - Move the e-mail to the "OLD e-mails" folder Hopefully there is nothing left in the "Temporary Inbox" anymore, and you have deleted that folder. If anything is confusing, let me know.

@Darta Riekstina Trying to analyse today: at first I wanted to write that it was fairly easy to focus, but looking back, that wasn't entirely true. The start of the day really was like that, because my priorities had been clear since Friday. However, in the first half of the day I had several meetings where I learned new information. I can't say I got too sidetracked into researching it, but it planted a kind of restlessness in my mind - a feeling that something needs to be done about it, and quickly (because my boss is leaving on a business trip the day after tomorrow for several days). In general, the main thing that has been preventing me from concentrating lately is conflicting priorities. I cleared out my email inbox on Friday. It's a good approach - it makes it easy to get rid of unnecessary emails. As for the to-do list: I had already set up a planner for myself where I plan the day's tasks, and that's also where I write down things that pile up during the day. For now, though, the list is growing faster than I'm crossing tasks off.
Cohort Participants: Start Here
Welcome! You're one of six people in this cohort, which is on purpose. The group is small enough that we all get to know each other. This post covers everything you need to find your way around. ➡️ The Six Fridays All at 12pm UTC, 60 to 90 minutes each [Check your local time zone]. You can see them in Calendar. The Zoom links will be in there too, in case you cannot find the event in your own calendar. Friday 2 October, Distractions Friday 9 October, Time blocking Friday 16 October, Prioritization Friday 23 October, One list Friday 30 October, Rituals Friday 6 November, Graduation The calendar invitations should also be in your inbox. If you can't find something, message me directly and I'll resend them. ➡️ How the six weeks will work We will build the system on during the calls. There should be nothing left to do as homework - just use your newbuilt system and habits. That's the whole design. This is what you will get after each call: - A recording, in case you can't make it live - An implementation worksheet for that week - Both will be found in the Classroom ➡️ What I'd actually do this week Introduce yourself to the community. Very briefly - what you manage and what's currently taking up most of your time. That's it, no need to polish. See you on Friday! Dārta ☀️

I see Dārta’s course as a chance to clear my head a bit. Things are so dynamic and unstable right now. At work, I have three different management roles and areas of responsibility, but only one person working for me — and even he is basically borrowed. On the other hand, these days I can create my own virtual employees — AI agents. Like, imaginary friends. So, I guess I’m a bit of a “complicated case.”
