🌱 After 20+ Years in Health + Fitness, I Keep Coming Back to These 4.
I call them my Core 4 — the vital 20% that gets you 80% of the results. 🌱 ONE: Know what you’re working towards — and WHY. Have you ever looked at someone who seems to just DO the do? They eat well. Prep their food. Train consistently. Follow through. I don’t think that comes down to being more disciplined. I think a huge part of it is knowing what matters to you. 💡 What do you actually want? 💡 Why does it matter? 💡 How does it connect to the person you want to be and the life you want to live? For me, taking care of my body gives me the energy + freedom to pour myself into the things I care most deeply about. That’s a whole lot more motivating than “I should eat better.” 🌱 TWO: Build your Keystone Habits. Some habits make almost everything else easier. My big three: 🛏️ Sleep 🥗 Whole plant foods 🏃 Movement When I’m eating well, moving my body and protecting my sleep, I’m simply better at LIFE. More energy. Better decisions. More patience. More capacity to do the work I care about. You don’t need to overhaul everything at once. Score yourself 1–10 on each and look at your lowest number. Then ask: What’s ONE thing I could do to move that up a point? That’s enough to start. 🌱 THREE: Food PREP, not meal prep. This one is VERY important to me. 😆 I love food. I love eating abundantly. And I have zero discipline at the end of a long day. So I prep building blocks. A big batch of greens. A delicious plant protein. A sauce that MAKES the meal. Then I mix, match + repurpose. Bowls. Salads. Loaded potatoes. Tray bakes. Pasta. Healthy eating should never feel like deprivation. I want an abundant, colourful plate of food that I’m genuinely excited to eat. 😋 🌱 FOUR: Build self-trust through ACTION. This might be the one closest to my heart. As a teenager, I was painfully shy. Even in my early 20s, a lot of my confidence was fake confidence. What I’ve learnt since is that real confidence isn’t something you magically wake up with one day. You earn it. You say you’re going to do something — and you do it.

🌱 It’s Not JUST About the Food… However, the Food IS Pretty Amazing. 😆
One of my absolute favourite things about Plant Positive is that we get to talk about ALL the things that help us thrive. Strength. Habits. Consistency. Self-care. Mindset. Accountability. Living our values. And FOOD. Lots and lots of glorious plant-based FOOD. 😋🌱 This week has been a particularly delicious one. 🥦🫘💃 We kicked off my October One GREEN. One BEAN. One LEAN-Sexy-Sauce combos with: Charred broccolini + Arabian dense bean salad + hummus. Combo #2 is going LIVE today and I am VERY excited about this one. 😆 ✨ Our latest Vegan Recipe Glow-Up contender was a Loaded BLT Protein Hash Brown — which looks absolutely glorious and also presents a slight challenge for someone who has never been a “frier” and isn’t about to start! 🌯 And I’ve just discovered spiced roast pumpkin + herbed whipped tofu, which technically isn’t a wrap... however, I’m already imagining the whole lot stuffed into a giant collard leaf, so I’m counting it. 😆 The food is a BIG part of Plant Positive. Because I LOVE showing just how abundant, colourful, satisfying + seriously delicious healthy plant-based eating can be. However, this week we’ve also been talking about: 😩 How to stop negotiating with yourself and decide ONCE on the habits that matter. 😆 Turning Mini Sucks → Mini SUCCESSES and using tiny completed tasks as evidence that you’re someone who takes action. 💛 Finishing our 30-Day Self-Care Challenge and looking back at the practices worth carrying forward. 💬 Having a plan for when THE PLAN doesn’t happen. And 🎉 Thrive in 30 has officially started! Our October crew have chosen their ONE meaningful goal + THREE supporting habits and they are already checking in, taking action, encouraging each other and bringing the most fabulous energy. 💚💪 THAT is Plant Positive. ✅ Getting stronger + fitter. ✅ Eating food you genuinely look forward to. ✅ Building habits that support the person you want to be. ✅ Taking care of yourself so you have more to give to the things that matter. ✅ And doing it alongside a bunch of lovely humans who care about animals, our planet + thriving personally too. 🌱💚

🌱 You Don’t Need a Perfect Week. You Need a Repeatable Day.
One of the things I’ve been thinking about a LOT lately is how consistency compounds. Not just in the obvious way — more workouts eventually make you stronger, more nourishing meals support your health, more walks add up... There’s another kind of compounding that I think matters just as much: Every time you do the thing you said you’d do, you create a little more evidence that you can TRUST yourself to follow through. Here are 5 ways I think we can make that easier: ✅ 1. Build self-belief on purpose. Self-belief isn’t a mindset you're born with. It’s evidence you build. Each time you do the small thing you said you’d do — walk, prep food, train, go to bed on time, journal — your brain records: I follow through. Those tiny pieces of evidence add up. ✅ 2. Lower the bar + protect momentum. Bad day? Do the 5-minute version. The short walk. The mini meditation. The lighter workout. The ridiculously easy meal. The goal isn't huge progress today. The goal is NOT restarting tomorrow. ✅ 3. Protect the streak. A streak can start to shift how you see yourself. You stop asking: Do I feel like it? And start thinking: I’m someone who does this. Pick ONE action that matters and track it. Consistency beats optimisation. ✅ 4. Remove decision fatigue. Decide once: 🥣 What your go-to breakfast is. 💪 What days + times you train. 📱 What time your phone goes away at night. 🥦 What easy food you ALWAYS keep available. You’re not relying on willpower every day. You’re relying on a decision you already made. ✅ 5. Don’t overlook THIS benefit... Consistency doesn't just improve results. It removes so much of the guilt + mental clutter. Instead of: on track → off track → feel bad → restart Monday You start creating: small action → small win → confidence → repeat. 💚 You don't need a perfect week. You need a repeatable day. And this is exactly what we’re about to practise inside Thrive in 30, starting October 1. 🎉🌱💪 🎯 ONE meaningful goal. 🌱 3 habits that genuinely support it. 💪 30 days of coaching + accountability together.

Say cheeese, critter! That's exactly what is happening in Indonesian Borneo, and I love this approach to wildlife conservation! A program called KehatiKu, operated by Borneo Futures in West Kalimantan, is helping turn animal hunters into animal protectors by giving local communities a way to earn money photographing wildlife instead of removing them from their natural habitats. Using a dedicated mobile app, villagers photograph or record wildlife, submit their observations for verification, and receive payment based on the species. 📸 A common bird can earn approximately $0.30. 📸 An endangered orangutan can earn approximately $7.50. The beauty of this approach is that the same animal can be photographed over and over again, providing an ongoing opportunity to earn income while allowing the animal to remain wild and free. And look what this program has accomplished so far! 🐾 More than 800 local wildlife observers are participating. 🐾 Nine villages are involved, with two more expected to join in October 2026. 🐾 There are 73 species eligible for payments. 🐾 Two participating villages have voluntarily introduced hunting bans! The program is also helping researchers gather valuable information about wildlife populations and where different species are living. But there's another beautiful side to this story. One participant, a 50-year-old farmer named Octavius, shared that his earnings are helping pay for his children's college education. Another participant, 72-year-old Imelda, described how animals once viewed as pests, including deer and wild boar, are now animals people want to protect. This program currently has funding secured through 2028, although finding a way to sustain it financially over the long term remains an important goal and I will be keeping an on this one. 😊 What I especially love about this approach is that communities aren't being asked to choose between providing for their families and protecting the animals who share their world. They're being given an opportunity to do both and this is when the magic happens!

I had never heard of such an approach. THIS IS AMAZING! And it's teaching people the value in an animal is their individuality AND them being alive! Honestly - super, super cool. Thank you for sharing.
