Looking at the brooch below, I would have never assigned it as a D&E offering due to the 342(+/-) prongs, especially around the center stone. Seems like there's always an exception or two, so identifying Juliana often comes down to experience and familiarity with specific designs. The second photo shows another exception to a common D&E attribution that it must have a 5-panel or 5 link design. It looks more like Hobe than D&E. I thought this would be constructive for this group. Books work! 😅

I wanted to share this with you all. I found this little brooch at an antique mall and paid $7 for it. I thought he would bring a little bit because of being a mushroom. When I went to sell him for a starting bid of $1, I turned him over to look for a makers mark and seen 14 K. I thought surely not but I was like let me test him and bring him back next show. I took him to the jeweler. He told me it was solid gold, coral ball, and emerald eyes. His comps were pretty high, some as high as $1500. I sold him for $750!! He was only about two inches long!!

I bought this kit from Chris (Virginia Treasure Hunter) and it came in today. A couple of people asked for a video so I did it.
