I am on vacation this week so away from my gardens. Hoping we had a bit of rain at least while I’m gone. Luckily I’m only gone three and a half days so I’ll definitely water tomorrow if we’ve not had rain at home. How is everyone’s harvesting going? Anyone doing any preservation with their harvests? I won’t have enough of anything to really preserve. But I’m hoping to hit the local farm to get tomatoes to can up this year as I have used all I canned a couple years ago. Anyone care to share their favorite TESTED Safe tomato recipes you will be using?I’ve never canned anything other than stewed tomato’s and plain tomatoes really as I’ve always been afraid to not do it right. But I really would like to give it a shot this year. Wish Mrs Wagers still had the taco sauce mix my mom used to can when I was growing up.

My first time growing sweet potatoes and couldn’t be happier with the results! Anyone have tips for curing? Given it’s 100 degrees where I’m at for the next few weeks? I read any that are damage (i.e. nicked with my shovel or broken) can’t be cured. Is that correct?

I took my basil plants down by a third today, and I am making pesto, basil vinegar, and basil salt!
