Let the Plastic Balls Fall
I read a book they gave me an illustration to think about. The idea is that Iife is a lot like juggling balls. Some of the balls are plastic, and some are glass. The goal isn’t to keep every single ball in the air all the time. That’s exhausting—and sometimes impossible. The real challenge is learning which balls are glass. Plastic balls can fall. We can leave them on the ground for a while, pick them back up when we have the capacity, and toss them back into the rhythm. Dropping one may be inconvenient, but it doesn’t mean something important has been broken. Glass balls are different. Those are the things that need protecting—the things that can have real consequences when we continually neglect them. And everyone’s glass balls may look different. Maybe the goal isn’t to become better at juggling everything. Maybe it’s to become better at recognizing what truly matters, keeping our glass balls in the air, and giving ourselves permission to let some of the plastic ones fall. What are the glass balls you’re protecting in your life right now? I’ll list mine in the comments.

What I am protecting and what I consider glass is my health. What I’m protecting is my nutrition, my exercise routine, my regimen to take my medication and my mental health to be able to do the things that I need to in order to take care of myself. That’s vital because if they drop it hurts not only me but anyone close to me.
Stick with the game plan long enough
Don't Abandon the Plan Before the Habit Takes Hold Real transformation doesn't happen overnight. It happens when you stick with a game plan long enough for it to become second nature. Every single day, you’re making a choice. You’re either reinforcing your old habits - reaching for sugary foods and quick snacks - or you’re strengthening the skill of choosing the healthier option. It takes raw discipline to say no to short-term comfort. You build that discipline by tracking your wins. Log every victory. 💥Said no to the late-night sugar crash? Track it. 💥Hit your movement targets for the day? Track it. 💥Chose the planned meal over convenience food? Track it. Small or massive, tracking those wins proves to your own brain that you’re changing. It builds real confidence and cements your new identity as an athlete. Stop switching strategies every two weeks. Lock into the process, track the wins, and let the habit take over. See you inside the den. 🐺

thanks for the inspirational post as of late. I feel we all know the routines we just have to do them and fight the urge to dismiss it or avoid it.

Imagine
Imagine that you're in a movie, and imagine the movie begins now. You are the hero of the movie. What would that guy do? What would that guy do right now? Because you are. When a major project blows up at work and you miss your training sessions, it is easy to slip into the trap of feeling helpless. Here is how you apply the ABCDE principles to break that cycle and act like the hero of your own story: A: Activating Event: Missing consecutive training sessions because work stress took over. B Belief: Telling yourself, "I always mess this up, I have no discipline, I'm falling apart." C Consequence: Letting that narrative tank your mood, spike your anxiety, and make you want to quit entirely. D Dispute: Stepping back to challenge those thoughts. Ask yourself: Is this permanent, or is it just a temporary hurdle? Are you catastrophizing a minor setback, or can you find a more resourceful interpretation? E Energizing: Shifting your internal state from a helpless 2 to a resourceful 7 on your happiness scale through intentional attributional retraining. Stop waiting for circumstances to change. Step into the arena, dust yourself off, and execute like the lead in your own life. Your new self is waiting. Looking for fitness, health, and mindset solutions? Eyes forward
Comparison is a distraction disguised as motivation. Watching someone else’s highlight reel won't fix your posture, build your endurance, or clear your mind. It just wastes the energy you need for your own fight. Track your own numbers. Fix your own form. Own your own process. Eyes forward. Work in silence. See you inside the den. 🥊
