🗓️ Weekly Review 22 August
I just want everyone to take 10 minutes to truly reflect on the week gone by. Don't just start typing immediately, maybe get up and pace around for a bit to help you deeply think "How did this week truly go, and was there anything else I could have realistically done to make it better?" It would be easy to just say "got some work done, but was a bit distracted so want to work on that for next week" but this isn't training our metacognition skills which we all know is what will allow us to really quickly find the root cause of our issues. A good reflection here will make the weekly plan so much easier tomorrow

Day 1 This week has been so chaotic. Between becoming sick and some other events occurring, my main focus was looking after my health while maintaining my work ethic. Trialling out some new techniques so that my studying is more efficient. 2 weeks out from prelims, just trying to consolidate my knowledge so that I am ready to overcome the compact exam week.
Daily Check-In - Thursday 13 August
New formula for daily check ins. the benefit in these is in making a small improvement to your processes so they can stack and benefit from compound gains. Don't just put a task you completed today and one you want to complete tomorrow Day [X] 🔥 Today: [Win/Draw/Loss + Justification] Tomorrow: [A 1% improvement to make tomorrow slightly better] Important: The 1% improvement should be something in your system/process rather than just a task. This is so the gain will ideally forever benefit you. Example: Eliminating one source of distraction will provide a benefit for every subsequent day, whereas doing a physics past paper will only help you in the short term. Also feel free to add additional things to your daily checkins. For example I like posting my habit tracker here to keep myself accoutable, you may want to do the same or to post your daily plans to keep you accountable. Remember, always progress over perfection

Day 1 Today: win - came home early from school and used that time to get all my hw done. Was able to get 2hrs worth of genuine focus in for chem so that was pretty helpful. I identified some questions I need to flag down with my teacher. Tomorrow: won't have much time after school so will get hw done at minimum.
Updates to Bloom System
Hey guys, just wanted to flag some of the updates that I have made over the course of the last week which should help you guys progress much smoother. First, for those who are new I have created a 6 week headstart program which is a gentle introduction to some of the fundamentals of learning science (a 20 minute video per week + 1-2 hours of assignments) For those that are more established and are working through the core progression system, I have updated the checklist document to give you a more timebound sequence of what you should be doing. This is what you should be referring to with your weekly plans (ie if you are in week 2 of level 1 encoding, you should add all of the tasks from that week's page to your weekly plan) All of this can be found in the classroom page of bloom. Comment Heard to let me know you have read this, and lmk if you have any feedback or further suggestions for how to improve the usability of the resources to make your experience easier. cheers guys

Heard
Homework during the school week
How can I ensure that I complete my homework after school without allowing it to override my study and revision time? I have heard that you should revise everything that was taught in class each day, but how can I realistically fit in homework, revision and additional studying after school while still having enough time?

@Harry McKerihan That makes so much sense! No wonder I don't feel motivated after the copious amount of hw after a long day of school.
