Goals!
Anyone got any goals so see out the year on a high? I plan on completing the old British Army CFT on New Years Eve. 8 miles in under 2 hours, with 55 pounds. I am looking forward to the process!

@Andrew B Thank you Andrew! Small steps at a time!
WHAT’S YOUR ONE WIN THIS WEEK? 🛡️
Men, what’s one thing you’ve done this week that you’re pleased with? Got your training done? Went for a ruck when you couldn’t be arsed? Finally started the Reset? Or had a rough week and still managed to do something for yourself? It doesn’t have to be impressive. It just has to matter to you. Drop your win below, even if you’ve never posted before. And if you see someone making progress, give them a bit of support. Mind First. Body Follows.

My first rucking ever (early this week), went better than expected. Today had a whole day from home with lots of talking and listening. Thought it would be to much and to long for me mentally, but I enjoyed it, so that is a big win for me

@Michael Cartwright legs were a bit tired after, but not as much as before. Before (like three months ago) my whole body would be drained and I would fall asleep on the couch/sofa. Really pleased with both wins!
First ruck in
I've been at home, out of work, for over a year now, due to health issues. It took me a year to be able to walk 2 kilometres without much issue, instead of 1 kilometres. I joined this community last week and started Monday. Today I did my first rucking ever, with a small backpack and 1 litre of water in it. I was surprised by myself on pace and keeping it going for the whole walk 😄.

Writing Update ✍️
Today I’ve been buried in writing. Anything But Ordinary is well under way. It starts with a kid who was always in trouble and follows me through the French Foreign Legion, the Paras, Iraq, Afghanistan and the security circuit. But that isn’t the hardest part to write. The hardest part is what came afterwards, losing my identity, sinking into depression and realising that surviving war doesn’t mean you know how to live in peace. The book ends here, with me building ShieldWall and trying to turn all of that into something useful for others. I think I've cracked the code. First draft deadline: 14 December. Still a way to go, but it's flowing nicely now. Mind First, body Follows.

Sounds interesting! Keep the ink flowing! (Or the fingers typing 😉)
Checking in.....
How's everyone doing? I'm into a routine now...little and often every day. Some mornings I don't fancy it, but it takes 10 mins to do 5 rounds of 15 kettlebell swings with 10 pushups in between. If I haven't got the motivation to do that every day....it's time to get me slippers and pipe out and fade away 😁 A quick morning workout does more for your mental well-being than it does for your body!

@Rob Williams ah yes, Admiral McRaven, US Navy. By making your bed, you have accomplished your first task of the day.
