skool or no skool?
Hey everyone! I am trying to make a decision, but I don't feel like I have definitive data in order to make a best decision. I know the value of having a community and hosting my freebie in a skool group would definitely help with building an email list and a community at the same time. And I like the idea of having a ready source of comments to be able to reply to and even use it to build out content as I do best in response. However, I have a few concerns: 1. In my previous business, I had a Facebook group, and it took until you got to like 400+ people for anybody to really say anything. The constant posting and lives to crickets, even though I knew it was part of the process (and I have had several people say how helpful it was and they watched them all even when I didn't know), was such a struggle mentally and emotionally. I'm not really keen on the idea of doing that again. 2. I know that one to one and small groups are what I've always been good with, so worry about keeping up the energy in perpetuity with a membership/ free group. 3. I'm a high ticket coach and strategist, I do plan on having a low ticket offer, but it was more one offs in my head, so not sure about what I would even do for a premium that would still guide people to my high ticket services or if my ideal client even does these groups or not... I also love groups. I love being in groups and communities, and I'm just trying to work out in my brain if this is a direction I should go. I'm just looking for more input and data, really, and if we could help, that would be great.

@Andrea Palten how much did you budget for ads?
reworking my positioning statement- can I get feedback?
When you read this, what comes to mind? I'm a business coach and strategist known for helping mompreneurs turn businesses that run on them into businesses that run for them, so they have the freedom to decide what comes next.

@Andrea Palten It's so funny how mompreneurs is such a love/hate lol. But yeah the problem is I don't just do one thing. If you know anything about EOS I'd say it i'm more the integrator, but not embedded. I bridge gaps in multiple areas
The face of someone who forgot to press record
Just did 1 hour of “recording” for my YouTube, only to realize I forgot to hit record. 😳 Hope your day is going better than mine. lol! But when I did the second take it came out so much better. So that’s good. Are you relaxing or working this weekend?

@Andrea Palten I've tried. straight up and I throw up. With water nothing happened. I think my little flap thing that keeps it down is eroded or something

@Andrea Palten I've had it for who knows how long and no diet or anything changes it unfortunately. Along with most of my chronic conditions, drs have no clue. I've had sciatica since I was 19, I was 39 before someone even suggested an x-ray. I've had carpel tunnel since I was 27, turns out carpel tunnel doesn't make your whole arm numb and so it's not really carpel tunnel, just drs who refuse to do anything but surface level work....
Refining my known-for statement
I could really use some insight, especially if you fall in this demographic... I have made a pretty big pivot in how I work with businesses, which is I think where I always wanted to be but kept trying to fit insides some predetermined boxes (hello 3 individual circuits that said that was never going to work lol). I've been workshopping my known for statement and trying to find a way to help mompreneurs and couplepreneurs feel seen in it without being way too wordy.... So I had- I am a Life-first Business (Re)Designer who helps family-centered business owners transform their business so they're no longer the primary brain for everyone and everything, giving them the space to build their vision without losing themselves, their family, or the life they built it for. I feel like it says most of what I need but it is long. so maybe: I'm a Life-first Business Redesigner who helps you stop being the primary brain for everyone and everything, so you can build your vision without losing yourself, your family, or the life you built it for. a few other variations potentially- I'm a Life-first Business Redesigner who helps you steer your business toward the life you're building, so your business finally makes your life fuller, not harder (fuller not harder is one of my core beliefs) I'm a Life-first Business Redesigner and together we get clear on what you actually want out of your business and life, then redesign the business, its vision, decisions, roles, and rhythms, to fit it. I'm a Life-first Business Redesigner who helps you get clear on where you're going, then reshape the business to run in that direction instead of running through you. I'm a Life-first Business Redesigner who helps you redesign your business around the life you actually want, so it stops depending on you for every decision. Also open to suggestions. I struggle with taking a really big and nuanced (it won't look the same for each person, but will all involve mindset, communication strategies, coaching, strategy, and operations) and describing it without over describing it...

@Lori Goldman can you clarify the last ones? do you mean the ones in the last paragraph about systems or the ones about designing it around the life you want?

@Greg Russak Thanks, you're not wrong on either of those statements, but I'm very careful in my own marketing to not add blame or guilt. It's a core aspect of my messaging actually. I have two avenues I see people coming to me for a redesign- 1) they've entered a new life stage, and so they have different needs, priorities, and capacity. For example, they just had a baby or they want to homeschool their kids. They want to travel more or they have aging parents... and so they want to redesign their business to meet the new needs of this season of life. Or they are at a part of their business where it started taking over their life. It's grown so much that the way that they were operating it as a solopreneur, basically where they were everything in their business, no longer is meeting either the needs of the business or the needs of their life. We need to redesign it to meet this new stage of business. I do try very hard not to issue any of the blame on them, my messaging is meant to show the pain just enough to feel seen, but then to empower. The overwhelmed part is kind of where I'm supposed to come in, so I'm helping them and guiding them through this and helping them make those decisions so they're not alone in all of this. Does that make sense?
