I Built an AI Customer Support Agent with RAG in n8n — Gmail + Pinecone + Groq
Build Showcase: AI-Powered Gmail Customer Support Automation 📩 I recently built an AI-powered customer support system using n8n. The goal was to automate repetitive customer email responses using a company's existing knowledge base. Here's the architecture: Part 1: Customer email automation 1. Gmail Trigger monitors incoming emails. 2. AI Agent processes the customer message. 3. Pinecone Vector Store retrieves relevant knowledge. 4. Groq Chat Model generates the response. 5. Gmail sends the reply. Part 2: Knowledge base ingestion 1. A customer support form accepts document uploads. 2. Default Data Loader processes the uploaded documents. 3. Google Gemini Embeddings converts the content into embeddings. 4. Pinecone stores the knowledge for future retrieval. Tech stack: - n8n – Workflow orchestration - Groq – LLM - Pinecone – Vector database - Google Gemini – Embeddings - Gmail – Email integration What I explored in this build: - AI Agents in n8n - Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) - Vector databases - Document ingestion - Automated email responses I'd love feedback from other builders: 1. How would you improve the retrieval process? 2. Would you add a human approval step before sending AI-generated replies? 3. What error-handling approach would you use? I help small businesses save time on repetitive tasks using n8n and AI automation. Interested in making your business processes simpler with automation? @Bharti Kaith Absolutely agree. I think human approval and low-confidence fallbacks are especially important when dealing with real customer data. The goal shouldn't be to automate every response blindly, but to know when the system should step back and involve a human.
Dental Clinic AI Automation — V1 → V2
A small update on my Dental Clinic AI Automation project. 🔥 After sharing V1, I spent a lot of time working on outreach and testing different business use cases, while continuing to improve this project. I’ve now updated the architecture to V2. The workflow itself isn't huge — the focus has been on making the business logic and failure handling cleaner. V2 now handles different patient inputs, business-action routing, patient authorization, booking and records, human review, team notifications, error logging, and operational follow-up. I also added voice input with transcription and a fallback path when transcription fails, so the patient can be informed while the team is notified. I'm sharing the full V2 architecture and a few screenshots of the team notifications. Still improving it while balancing this with outreach. 🚀 V1 → V2. One step at a time.

This is a solid upgrade. I like that the V2 focus isn’t just adding more features, but making the workflow handle failures and human review properly. That’s the part that makes an automation feel much closer to something you could actually use in a real clinic.

I think client onboarding is one of those areas that gets overlooked. There’s usually a lot of repetitive work between “client signed” and “work actually starts,” so automating that part can save a surprising amount of time. 🔥
Airtable quote → PDF invoice → Google Drive 🧾
Hey everyone 😄. Here's my second Make build. I set it up for a mock car service company: you create a quote, add the services, click "Generate Invoice", and a few seconds later the PDF is in Google Drive and linked back to the quote. How it works: - Airtable holds everything: customers, services with prices, line items and quotes - A button on the quote sends it to Make through a webhook - Make pulls the quote and all its line items, and builds the invoice in HTML - PDF.co turns it into a PDF - The PDF goes to Google Drive, and the link goes back into Airtable For a small business this cuts invoicing from a few minutes of copy-paste per client down to one click, with fewer mistakes in prices and totals. I attach a quick video walkthrough and a few screenshots of the system, and the invoice created. A few questions for everyone here: What other regular and repeating tasks in small (or BIG:) businesses would you point, that are not on the surface - like invoice creation, and can be automated or optimized? What would you add next to the system, to make more easy to use or client-ready? and, sure, other feedback is always welcome ;) and thanks a lot for the feedback on my first build, it really helps and encourages to move forward! Wishing you guys a great week ahead 🙏😊

This is a really practical build. One thing I’d add next is an automatic follow-up after the invoice is sent—especially reminders for unpaid invoices—because that’s where the workflow could start saving even more manual work beyond just creating the PDF. Great job on the second build!

There are probably a lot of businesses doing these tasks manually without realizing how much time they’re losing. I especially like the focus on follow-ups and CRM automation—those can have a pretty direct impact on day-to-day operations.
