DAY 23/84
My Top 3 Priorities: 1. Protecting my health and rest. 2. Completing my learning assignments. 3. Building my coaching foundation with focus. Things I Am Setting Aside for Now: Trying to do everything at once. Why These Priorities Matter Most: They support my wellbeing, growth and purpose. Today I Proved: Pausing does not mean giving up. I can return and continue.

I WANT TO PERSONALLY INVITE YOU…
For the first time, I’ll be presenting our internationally accredited Life Coach Certificate Course live and in person in Bloemfontein. This is for you if you’ve been thinking: 💭 “I know I’m meant to help people.” 💭 “I want to do work that has real meaning.” 💭 “I would love to become a coach, but I don’t know where to begin.” 💭 “I want practical, face-to-face training, not another online course I may never finish.” Over six transformational days, I’ll personally teach you the coaching skills, tools and frameworks you need to confidently begin helping others create meaningful change. You don’t need previous coaching experience. You simply need a genuine desire to grow, serve others and take the first step. By the end of the training, you won’t only understand coaching, you will have practiced it, experienced it and developed the confidence to start coaching real people. 📅 20–25 November 2026 ⏰ 09:00–16:00 daily 📍 Bloemfontein 💰 R9,799 per person 💳 Payment options are available If becoming a Life Coach has been on your heart, don’t ignore that feeling. Comment “SEND ME THE INFO” below, and we’ll send you the complete brochure and payment options privately. Hi Barry Good to see someone offering face-to-face training. Six days in a room with real people beats another online course we never finish. Wishing you well with it.
🧠 30 Sep WEDNESDAY IDENTITY CHECK-IN
THIS WEEK’S MISSION: I AM OVERCOMING We are halfway through the week. On Monday, you identified the one thing you are overcoming. On Tuesday, you put movement behind the decision. Today we bring it back to identity. One of the biggest traps is turning a struggle into who you believe you are. There is a difference between: “I am struggling with consistency.” and “I am an inconsistent person.” There is a difference between: “I have failed before.” and “I am a failure.” Your struggle is something you are experiencing. It does not have to become your identity. Pasted markdown WEDNESDAY CHECK-IN Comment below: 🧠 This week, I AM becoming: ⛰️ The thing I am overcoming is: 🏆 One piece of proof I have created this week: You may not have overcome everything yet. That does not mean you are stuck. Sometimes the most powerful word is: YET. I haven’t overcome this yet.

I spent most of my life in that gap — between 'I have failed' and 'I am a failure.' Worth remembering they're not the same thing.
The Gravity of Success
If nobody sees you as a threat, you're not important yet. If nobody's talking about you behind your back, you're not relevant yet. When someone tries to use you, that's not betrayal. That's confirmation you have something worth taking. When someone tries to tear you down, they're already beneath you. Hate only travels one direction: upward, never down. And when they doubt you, it's because you're chasing something they gave up on a long time ago. So the next time it stings, remember what it actually means.

I’ve seen a lot of truth in this over my working life — through the PC era, mobile phones, solar power, and now AI. The people who tried hardest to use me or knock me down usually showed up right when something was actually going well. But I’d add one caution. Not everyone who doubts you is wrong. Sometimes criticism is just criticism, and it’s actually true. The real skill — one I’m still learning now, oddly, as an older doctoral student — isn’t just “ignore the haters.” It’s learning to tell the difference between criticism that means you’re doing something right, and criticism that’s trying to help you fix something. So yes, when it stings, it might mean you’re onto something. But it’s also worth asking yourself honestly: is this person right?
