Pray
Dear God I pray to you on this day To give thanks for all you brought me through Especially the most recent event I don't know who you got watching over me Protecting me All I know is They are the there Due to your divine intervention I'm still here Due to their protection One hour later After I arrived At my mom's Bullets started flying They could've devoured my body Died in a drive by Suffering the same fate as my homie Leaving my mother crying Asking Lord why Instead I'm still living Still here Still breathing Grateful To give her a hug To see her another day I pray to you on this day In the morning before I awake At night before bed I don't wake up or lay down To see the next day Unless I pray But who is it you got looking over me Is it my grandfather Isaiah Henderson He was a devout Christian Watched him get up to go to church Each and every Sunday Then come home Watching John Hagee and Rod Parsely on TV At times I wished I would've went with him Is it because of him I'm still here Or is it my grandmother Addie B Arnold keeping a watchful eye over me I was always her sweetie Even as a grown man I was still her grandbaby She was always excited to see me Gave me a hug and kiss on my cheek And a piece of candy No matter how old I was She made me feel like a kid again Maybe it's her you have as my guardian angel There are a few other situations You kept me protected Like when I fell asleep at the wheel Crashed in the back of a pickup truck I could've been killed then or worse Hurt someone else Yet again I was helped By my protector Is it the two brothers Who passed on before me I still remember the day the homie got free They called him Pothead on the streets He was a big time dope boy I still remember how I took him to Desoto Bass Had a crack rock as big as a boulder Praying I didn't hear them red and blue lights Pull up behind us Or the drug deal went bad Causing gunshots to fly Ending both our lives That's why I'm blessed I wasn't at the spot When the drive by happened

Bright Side Of Job
This is the poem I read on Hard Truth. Ok God What is the lesson you trying to teach me Is this the way you trying to reach me I know you got plans for me I just don't understand what they are I decided to do it my way On my own God had a different path he wanted me to take He wanted to show me who's really in charge I guess I had to learn the hard way Learn the same lessons he taught Job No matter what don't stress Cuz it's God who's in control Even all that fell Job He never lost hope It started on a nice summer day in August I knew something was off Just didn't know what I took a walk around my home Went to the backyard To look at the apples growing in the tree Ironically it's what Eve gave to Adam That caused the fall of man Is this a sign To the fall of my marriage The beginning of the end That's what I asked God Am I supposed to be here Is this really the wife you sent Had a nice beautiful home In a good neighborhood in the suburbs Feeling good because I finally made it out the hood Good job to Or so I thought I couldn't shake the feeling That something was off My so called wife Always wanted to cause arguments Over the slightest things Like what to watch on TV It was always some dumb reality show Or some murder mystery Or the food we ordered to eat Was always wrong But I didn't want to leave As I wanted to honor my vows Till death do us part right Something she tried to cause I asked God is this it The woman and home you planned for me Cuz it don't feel like it A few weeks later It happened She hit me That's when the decision was made For me to evacuate God revealed the truth to me My life started to fall apart Forced to leave my home Due to domestic violence Asking God why He told me son Did you learn the lesson of Job You didn't listen to me Or pay attention to the signs In order for you to understand I had let the devil invade your marriage Just like I allowed him to strike Job You knew that woman wasn't the wife I chose How she didn't follow me

A Great Read
Reading is an artform... Reading books, this isn't part of the current conversation... This is a slaying, dragging having people gagging. Reading for flith... Surgical etymology, so precise... The person doesn't realize, limbs are missing. Unable to calculate the volume of blood loss.. More devastating than a five punch combination... The ones where bodies are jerking involuntarily. Knocked out, but eyes stuck open.... The pen so sharp, all its edges are laced with poison... Yet, we have ignorant people drawn to the blood letting.... I think we should give.. The Great Read award annually... The category for historic and master crafted, Reads.... The legends of Black Sisters, Poets, and Drag Queens... Bringing sharp tongues and inflammatory wit... Carving out, don't come for me, unless I summon you moments.... Some of my favorite lines of old... "When I call your name, I will shake your chain." That tone and those words are not welcome here... You have mistaken me, for someone you're sleeping with. Or...someone that cares.... Leaving your feelings on the ground will cause them to be trampled... I have 0 😱 fu€ks to give... I am neither the one nor the two... Better to play in traffic while slapping your bald headed mammy... May you awaken with a mouth full of jock itch... Which is why, I don't shake hand with shit... By your level of comprehension, it's a know fact, your mom and dad are brother and sister... One can fix a broken smile, unfortunately there isn't a cure for stupid... Now, attend to making merry with the curb, it's adept for myopic minds like yours... The Great Read... the school of cutting out hearts and snipping of balls... Just a reminder, don't incite the ire of a Poet... Lyrically yours, MydNite Renaissance ❤️‍🩹
