Hey, I just thought I’d share with you a little clip showing how I’m using a cob mix as a finish plaster on exterior. When this coat is dry in a couple weeks, I will apply a clay paint with equal parts sifted Clay, very fine Sand and either flower paste or a plant-based cellulose as the binder. When this is all dry, I can either apply a linseed oil,, a fermented, nopal cactus juice or something called water glass, which is also known as sodium silicate. I’ve actually never used this before. It comes in a gallon liquid form.I’m curious to try it out. I’ll let you know how it does I’ve heard it works well. It’s true. I usually do a lime plaster for the exterior, but I actually much prefer doing Earthen plasters .
