This is a big structure! I’m curious also about what sort of insulation you are using in the roof? Will it be a living roof? What is the square footage of the structure? Would love to see more piz! Glad you’ve joined us!

Great! Good for France! With all those living rooms people can pretty much get away with building anything they want without any permits as it’s not visible from this guy above it would just look like a beautiful garden. I’d be curious to know what kind of things they are growing on these roofs. Usually at succulent as they are the least maintenance.

Yes, I’ve put in Wildflower seeds in my roof as well before the rainy season starts and it does well… if you have access to the course, I go into detail about how I do drainage for tne roof. Are you building a round or square cobin? If it is round, a gutter is a bit more challenging, but if it’s square it is a bit more straightforward. When it’s round, I create a slope to encourage the water to drain out of drainage holes I drill through the roof and then the water just goes straight down and then away from the structure as I build on a little raised mound.

I also always put in a fascia board to contain the earth in the roof so it doesn’t all spill over. I usually use a 2x12 or cut plywood into a 12 inch strips and put that over the 2x6 boards to contain the earth
