Winter champs
Day 1 Heats 100free: 1.03 added a second, but my underwaters improved and my coach said I seem more concentrated. I figured I need to work on my endurance but this a a qualifying time for SA sc nationals, so decently happy 50bk: 34 stayed on my time, I think I added a 0.3 or something, this felt pretty good. My start felt amazing but I did miss count my strokes and glided a bit too much for bothe the turn and finish (weirdly enough all the girls in my club had the exact same problem and even some of the other clubs did) 100IM: 1.17 stayed on my time, well I took off splits but it was like 0.2. There wasn't any oxygen in the pool but otherwise it felt OK, not necessarily strong and again I fumbled a bit on the backstroke finish Finals: 100 free 1.03 swam splits faster and came 2nd by 0.4 my underwaters felt better and you could breath more as they finally opened the doors. I slowed down q bit on my last lap and chocked on water twice but all in all I'm happy with the result 50bk : added splits and came 3rd My underwaters felt once gain better and the turn was better too the finish not so much. I realize my arms could have more power and my kick too. 100 IM same time, kept my head down and went for it. My coach says he want to turn me into an IM swimmer, he says my breaststroke improved and I'm gliding better. I counted my strokes and I did 9. The gala before I did 11. Yes happy happy Day 2 Heats 200 free 2.27 added 5 seconds, there was so much stream and my lungs collapsed on the first 50, I made it to finals ranked 4th, my underwaters were ok but far from the best 100 bk 1.15 dropped a second but my coach was mad at me because I went slow. The steam was actually so bad I cooked on water twice and coughed but water as I got out. My turns were better than the day before 50 free 28.13 added 0.14 happy with my time bit disnt kick enough the last 15 meters I think I took 3 breaths and I had a okish reaction time Finals 200 free 2.23 took off 4 of the 5 seconds that I added and came 3rd, it oxygen was a bit better and my turns flet ok, and once again my couch and I agreed that I need endurance training

Open water race
Yesterday was my first ever open water mile. i was feeling a bit of nerves because 1. i hate swimming with fish 2. i have never swam anything more than a 500. but all of my friends were doing it, and i have been wanting to do it since the beginning of summer. but i really enjoyed racing, it even felt surprisingly easy. i will be doing another one next month, so i will be updating on that! i went 24 minutes, im pretty happy with it 🙂

About the new club…
I AM LOVING IT! 😚💞 Everything is so much better. The people, the trainings, the EVERYTHING! I do not regret that I left, and I am saying that respectfully. I’ll be starting morning practices at 06:00 tomorrow morning and im very excited to start again. We used to have them in the previous club, but then it stopped at some point. The swimmers are a little faster than me at some sets, but it gives me the motivation to wanting to be at the same level as them. Im feeling every single day like that I’ve learned something new, and it wasn’t like that in my last club, I felt like I was stuck in place all the time. And it’s surprisingly similar to the Tenerife camp, the trainings and stretchings, and it’s good to continue/learned what I did in Tenerife here in Iceland, so this move was very successful. I’ve done one week with them already 🥹💕. Also, surprising plot twist, I’ve gotten a new guy in my class. He’s nice to talk to and an okay guy. When I went to swim practice after school that Friday, he appeared suddenly and started talking to my coach about the program. I was pretty stunned as the guy never mentioned to me before that he was a swimmer, and we did the whole thing “get to know each other” in school. I mean, im not against it obviously, I love meeting swimmers 🫶. It’s exciting and we will basically be stuck together the whole day/s. I mean, this is just a fun fact I wanted to share out there 🫠. Alright, now I gotta get some rest for the morning training tomorrow LOL. ✨💤

Welsh Summer Nationals 2026
⚠️ Extremely Long Post⚠️ (not as long as the competition 🤦) Sorry not sorry Over the last 5 days, I've been racing at the Welsh Summer Nationals. I entered 7 races and was then selected for a relay, but ended up swimming 14 races due to finals qualifications. Day 1: 200 free Heats - I was a little nervous before this but mainly because it was the first race, it went ok and I swam a 2:19.33. This was 2 seconds off my best, but was a solid first swim and got me into the final. Final - I swam a 2:17.28, which was a pb by 0.02. Still a pb though! I raced it well, and went out harder than I usually would (1:06.5). This was better than almost even splitting which is my usual performance 🤦 50 breast Heats - I went straight from 200 free cool down to 50 breast marshalling so was living in the chaos. I wasn't nervous for this, and swam a 37.40, a pb by 0.03 from when I was absolutely on fire at 13. Final - Swam a 37.29, another 0.11 off of my time 😊 In both heats and finals, I counted my strokes and compared it to my 50 breast swims at winter nationals. I swam both races in a quicker time with less strokes, which is a positive (my stroke has become more efficient). Day 2: 200 breast Heats - I was really nervous before this, but didn't have a panic attack which is a big positive. I kept my stroke technique, and swam a seasons best (2:58.55). Final - I was nowhere near as nervous before the final. I swam it 6 milliseconds slower (2:58.61), but I raced it much better, splitting my first 100 2 seconds quicker than in the heat. I died on the last 50 though which is a shame, because I was on track for about a 2:55 😔 Still happy though! Day 3: 200 IM Heats - A bit nervous before this, but once again no panic attack. My backstroke split wasn't very good, but my fly was decent and my breast and free were good. Made up ground on the rest of my heat. Swam a 2:40.46. Final - Not as nervous, and swam a 2:38.95. My fly and back split was better, and my breast and free were the same. This still wasn't a pb, but I was content anyway.
