I Built VoiceDrop for Skool, So You Can Just Drop Someone a Voice Message
I talk out loud a lot. If I’m trying to explain something properly, give feedback, reply to someone, or just get a thought out of my head, I usually find it much easier to say it than type it. Now I can do that directly on Skool with VoiceDrop. You can drop a voice message in a post, comment or private chat. It gives conversations a bit more of that personal touch without needing to jump on camera. You can stay completely faceless, skip typing out an essay, and people still get to hear your voice, your tone and how you actually meant something. That can be useful whether you’re just chatting with people on Skool or you run a community and want a more personal way to reply, answer questions or give feedback. Each VoiceDrop can be up to 10 minutes, which is plenty for quick back-and-forth conversations. If you’ve got more to say, just drop another one. I’ve attached one to this post so you can see exactly what it looks like. The full rundown is at VoiceDropHQ.com

@Natasha Pawlak I need you and Glenn to record encouraging messages for me to listen to every day!! 😭😁🤣 I can’t get enough of y’all’s accents! ♥️ I sound like collard greens and cornbread 😂 I’d record a message right now but I’m on my cell phone 😳 it’s 6am over here in Georgia 🇺🇸
A Great Example of What a Community Cover Should Look Like!
I wanted to give Missi a bit of a shout out for her new community cover because I think she's done a fantastic job with it! This is a great example of how a community cover can be visually appealing while still clearly communicating what the community is actually about. The first thing that stands out is the typography. It's big, bold, and immediately grabs your attention. The colour combination works really well too, especially how the pink transitions into navy blue and ties in with the chair she's sitting on. She's included herself in the design. It gives the cover a personal touch and helps potential members put a face to the person they'll be learning from. That's particularly important when you're building a community around your own knowledge and experience. But perhaps the most important thing she's got right is the messaging. It's simple, specific, and immediately tells someone what they can expect to learn. There's no vague marketing language or clever wording that leaves people guessing. If I were to suggest a couple of small improvements, the first would be to experiment with the positioning of the BUSINESS banner. I really like the angled design, but I think it overlaps the larger text a little too much. Perhaps shifting it slightly to the right or adjusting its position would give everything a bit more breathing room without losing that visual impact. I'd also consider removing the small logo. At the display size of the cover, it's almost impossible to read, and I don't think it's adding much to the overall design. The cover already has such strong branding through the colours, typography, and Missi's photo that I don't think the logo is necessary. Other than that, I think she's absolutely nailed the overall style! And there's a lesson here for everyone working on their own community cover. 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙨𝙣'𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙮. It's one of your first opportunities to grab someone's attention, communicate what you offer, and give people a reason to explore your community.

Oh wow! Such a compliment 😍 thank you @Glenn Summers I really admire your graphic skills & will def take your advice! I actually added the logo wordmark more for proprietary reasons - but I can make it much smaller and “hide” it. I’ll play around with “business” a bit more, too. I’m afraid of making it too small bc of the thumbnail size though? The conversation from this community helped a lot in creating this! So glad I joined. Now I just have to dig in more bc I know you have a lot more gems I haven’t discovered yet.
👀 what I came across on my fb feed
The tanned, buff version of Glenn! I still get impressed when I randomly see communities I’m familiar with as I scroll the Book!

My why’s
I wanted to create a community where people could come together and actually learn together and TRULY be friends… like the chat rooms of the old days. I’ve found myself in a position where working a public job isn’t favorable. And I’ve spent several years teaching people on TikTok that I honestly thought this could be my JOB. Something I genuinely enjoy doing - watching the 💡 go off as people learn something new, seeing their progress, & the excitement people show when they’re proud of themselves. Also, about 1 1/2 yr ago a deer ran out in front of my car - which was paid for - and I hit it (twice) and it totaled the car. That added more financial stress on my husband who is the sole bread winner right now. I’d love to be able to pay off some of our debt and be financially free again. Plus, I have a 15 yo son who just went back to regular school (rather than virtual) and I’d love to be able to be available for everything for him. I keep hoping that all the skills I’ve learned throughout my life will find its purpose. That’s a lot of personal info I’m sharing, I realize 😂. But I can be an over sharer, and I’m ok with that.

@Glenn Summers that is great advice! And perfect timing too - I’m deciding the next class to teach and honestly it’s targeted towards those exact people. Perfect example of narrowing the niche down even more. Thank you!!

How Good Is Your Packaging?
You might have an amazing community, but does it look like one to someone discovering it for the first time? By packaging, I mean your cover image, group description, and About page. These three things should work together to make it 𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧 who your community is for, what they'll get out of joining, and why they should choose yours. Now here's the big question... 𝗜𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆? If Skool started sending a flood of new visitors to your community tomorrow, would your packaging be good enough to turn those visitors into members? Take a look at your community through the eyes of someone who's never heard of you before. Would you join? 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴? Attach your community's cover image (the one displayed in the top right of your community) in the comments below! Let's help each other make a great first impression.
