Today’s WOTD is my RGM x Teddy Baldassarre 501-Teddy. One of the things I enjoy most about this watch is how much it changes once the light hits it. At a glance, it is a very elegant and restrained piece. But when you catch it in the sunlight — especially in a wrist roll — the guilloché dial really comes alive. The pattern starts reflecting light in waves, and suddenly the dial has a level of depth, motion, and texture that a still photo can only hint at. That is part of what makes this watch so special to me. It’s not loud. It’s not trying too hard. But when the light is right, it rewards you. As I continue to learn more about watchmaking, I find myself increasingly drawn to details like that. Not just the watch itself, but the human skill behind it. So today I’m grateful for another day, another watch, and another little moment of enjoyment from something beautifully made.
