Today was my Grassroots first league match like lots of you. We were playing the team that came second in the league last season whereas we came second bottom. The team played well they listened to my instructions and battled hard by half-time we were winning 1-0. Second half started and a pass from my defender straight to their striker gave them a goal 1-1. However we reset and we all dug deep playing our part that in the last minute if the game our striker broke through kicked it round their goalkeeper and it hit the post but our winger was there to shoot it in the net. We won 2-1. It was strange because technically the opposition weren't any better and because of this they were resorting to constantly fouling. No photos as my mum was sorting out prematch stuff now she is coach but she did film the game so match highlights will be posted over the next couple of days

Second game of the season today and a team we hadn't played before. A solid game and a 6-0 win Today showed that although you aren't always asked to stop shots. There is plenty to do. Game management was massive today. Slowing play down and hitting the pass when needed. It was really nice to be a pivot point and help change direction of play. I was involved in one goal. A long pass out to a winger a first time pass to the goal scorer. Comments again today stating that having a solid GK gives the rest of the team the confidence to play in front of him.
