Who else has wrens?
Awww I'm thinking wrens are all around the world in one form or another - are they? I know plenty of you are from Europe and beyond - what wrens (or similar small birds) do you have? The Superb Fairy-wren is pretty common on the East Coast of Australia ... this little guy is halfway into breeding plumage, so he looks a little patchy!

Yeah the superb over here near Goornong, but haven't seen them in our garden yet this spring
A quick poll
I'm working on a new course and I'm curious to know which shooting mode you use? Comment the relevant numbers below 1: Aperture Priority 2: Shutter Speed Priority 3: Auto ISO 4: Full Auto 5: Manual 6: A combination (tell me more if you can) Thank you in advance!! This will help me share the most relevant information 😊

Town birds
No luck with finding the Hooded Plovers again but plenty of Little Corella's hanging around the neighbours conifers feasting on nuts!

Still on the move ...
Since handing over the keys to the new owners of my home of 27 years, I'm onto my 3rd move in 3 weeks with the 3 flying parrots in the van - the good news is I've found a beautiful new home, contracts are exchanged and it will be available 7th August! A big day of travel for 'the boys' yesterday with 3 hours in the van (2 haven't travelled before) to stay at a friends house in Bairnsdale for a week - but they coped very well with an apple, walnut and toasted sandwich break thrown in 😄 Morty was far more interested in the cheesy-bread-things than the healthy bird snacks as usual 🙄 Did manage a couple of birding sessions in Mallacoota with @Helen Banks - going to head back there next week. Chuffed to catch some Robins at the Water Treatment Plant - of course, as Robins do, they were hard to get onto a natural perch - despite the many twigs and pretty branches to land on, much preferred the sprinkler system 🫠 A few eventually co-operated ... Scarlet Robin, male and female Jacky Winter Morty the greedy guts Anyways, the adventures continue, can't wait to land in my new home and settle in! 4 weeks to go!!

Gorgeous shots as always Sonia, also the new place sounds nice 😉
Common ... but Superb
The Superb Fairywren was the bird that got me started on bird photography many years ago now - impossibly quick at times, but always a delight to observe - not to mention they are known as one of the most promiscuous birds with flirty males hopping between groups of ladies at record speed 😄 I just love the tiny legs and feet that are so fine they can perch on the thinnest of twigs with ease 😍
