How to evaluate business opportunities
I am an opportunity seeker, in the most miserable sense of the term. I got started in high school, by responding to classified ads in the back of the local newspaper. I then followed the bizopp advice of online gurus... I bought courses... I invested in software because I thought it was the future. I keep looking for hot new things, secrets, and shortcuts. I've spent tens of thousands or possible hundreds of thousands of dollar chasing various business opportunities. It almost never works out. Sometimes it does. In fact, on a few occasions it's worked out so well (getting into copywriting, starting my own email list, creating info products) that it's allowed me to survive and even thrive. It's the reason I'm able to be here right now, writing you. Thanks to the many decades of my opportunity seeking, I've come up with 3 questions that help me evaluate new business opportunities these days. I am willing to tell you what these 3 questions are. I am wanting to tell you. I am WAITING to tell you. Except, I know from previous experience that if I just tell you, nothing much will come of it. So I'd like to invite you to think for a moment. What are some questions you might ask yourself to evaluate a business opportunity? Write them below. There are no wrong answers. If your question matches any of my questions, I'll let you know. And one way or another, if there is engagement enough and different questions enough, I'll gradually share my own business opportunity evaluation questions as well, even if nobody comes up with the exact same ones. But if folks aren't very interested in this... I am fine putting these back into the Bejako Trunk of Valuable Ideas to Keep for Myself.

Secret List-Building Technique (Live Workshop)
Heya everyone! As I very recently posted here about how Robin Timmers got 316 brand-new subscribers and €2,349 in sales... in three days... using my secret list-building x monetization tactic... And as I had one of those head-scratcher mornings where I had nothing to promote and no particularly interesting ideas for emails... I put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5: A live workshop where I'll walk folks through this very secret system. It is great for everyone, but especially for experts who have tiny lists, which makes it hard to do collabs and swaps with others. And this secret technique is not "run ads," or "post on LinkedIn 9 times a week," or... you know... none of the usuals. If you're interested, the live workshop is happening on Monday, Oct 26, at 1 PM ET. https://go.thesideblogger.com/register/secret-list-building-technique/?aff=bejako === 🐞 So, real quick... what's in this workshop? The Standard Operating Procedure of a list-building system that's not quite a cross-promotion, not quite running ads, and not quite running affiliate promotions... and definitely not posting on social media 107 times a day. This secret system not only gets you subscribers, but buyers, too (I once got ~140 subscribers and made over $1k with this system... within a couple of days. Robin Timmers got 139 subs and a little over 2.6k euros in 2 days.) === 🪲 What you'll need: You will need to work with another business owner or two who have your ideal audience. Basically, you'll be, very legally and ethically, poaching your competitors' audience using this system. You'll need to be able to set up an opt-in page. You'll need a lead magnet (or willing to make 'em). I will have resources for these in the workshop. You'll need an offer or two (or willing to make 'em). Don't sweat these; I'll have resources for easy (but sexy) offers you can whip up quickly.

10/10 list-building technique will use again.
I'm claiming this as my own success
I *helped* @Robin Timmers some weeks ago. Basically, I shared a list-building (and simultaneous monetization) system with him, which he has just implemented. And these are his final numbers: 316 brand-new subscribers and €2,349 (in 3 days). In short, this has been a HUGE success for Robin (and for me, too... I mean... since I gave him the idea and told him how the system works and what to do... y'know...😏). And thus, Robin's success is my success... joint "success" custody 💪😁 === PS: I don't give a fudgebiscuit if Tony Robbins thinks the word "success" is outdated 🤢 === PPS: I'm doing a live workshop on this secret list-building technique on Monday, Oct 26, at 1 PM ET. If you're interested, more info is in this post. ✌️

The most valuable skill if you run an email based business?
I'm going through the recordings of the consult calls I've done with a client that I'm helping to pull out more money from his email list. On a recent call, he told me the most valuable thing that he has gotten from our interaction together (over the span of 6 months now). I took a moment to think about it just now, and I think what he called out might just be the most valuable skill in general if you run an email business. Would you like to guess what this most valuable skill is? Let me give you a hint. Here's the exact phrase the guy said on our call, obfuscated just a bit: "R___ing to R___ T___ I______ from your I____ with your A_____" Any ideas? I am willing to entertain partial solutions as well, if you only want to guess a single word in the above, Wheel of Fortune-like.

Reacting to real-time interaction from your interaction with your audience. One of the 'interactions' is wrong, I feel.

Your email list => DFY clients?
This year, I got a couple DFY clients via my email list: One was a weekly-newsletter-writing gig. I just sent an email out to my list with the invitation. One qualified person replied, we talked, and agreed to work together. Another was an advertorial-writing client. I sent out an email saying I would write advertorials on commission only. A copywriter who's on my list offered to put me in touch with a business owner he knows, and that business owner turned into a client. But two random success stories is hardly a system. The fact is, I've gotten a handful of DFY clients via my list over the years... but I really wouldn't say I have a repeatable and ready way to do it. But maybe you do? Or you don't but wish you did? Or none of the above??? Let me know, I'll appreciate it:

@John Bejakovic Recently I got a €9K gig because I wrote an email (and/or LI post, can't remember) about this Gary Halbert swipe file I have. The client saw that, and wanted me to write 6 sales pages for him because of it lol. But most projects are probably €1-€5K.
