Let's Welcome Varsha!
@Varsha Mistry Welcome to Skoolology! 😊 I LOVE that the thing that caught your attention was our belief that all communities shouldn’t be built the same way. That’s pretty much the heartbeat of Skoolology.❣️ I took a peek at The Indian Cooking Club. Almost 400 members! You’ve already built something people are interested in. Now you want to get them talking, sharing, and connecting more with you and with each other. That’s a fun challenge for us to dig into. 😊 Really glad that post led you here, Varsha. Welcome! 💙

I'm handing you $100, but there's a catch. ❌️ You can't save it. ❌️ You can't invest it. ❌️ You can't spend it on your business. ❌️ You can't use it to pay a bill. ✅️ You have to spend every penny on something FUN for yourself. What are you buying? 👇😂

A nice new weighted blanket.
🌟 Community Reflection #4: Building the Bridge
One of the highlights of this week was spending time with @Jewels Sherriff during a Golden Ticket conversation. As we talked about her Courage Collective, something became clear. Communities aren't always the destination. Sometimes they're the bridge. A bridge between where someone is today... ...and where they hope to be tomorrow. It's easy to think our role as community builders is to create content. But perhaps our greater role is to create a place where people feel supported enough to take the next courageous step. That perspective stayed with me. The strongest communities don't simply share information. They help people become someone new. 💛 Reflection Prompt If your community could help one member take one meaningful step this week, what would you hope that step would be? 🌱 Every conversation has something to teach us. Thank you for learning alongside us.

@Jewels Sherriff, yay! I am so excited for you!
Let’s Welcome Emma!🎉
Welcome, @Emma Neziri ! 😊 We're so glad you're here. Congratulations on taking the first step and launching Building Health. Every thriving community starts with that very first member. You mentioned you're here to learn and you're not quite sure what success looks like over the next 30 days yet. That's completely okay. Many of us started exactly there. Take a look around, jump into a few conversations, and don't hesitate to ask questions. We're all learning together, and we'd love to help you build a community people don't want to leave. Welcome to Skoolology! 🌱

☀️ Builder's Morning
I want to tell you about a fourth-grader I taught years ago. She was a good student, engaged, right there with me in class. But she was quiet and thoughtful in a way that was hard to read, and I sometimes wondered if I was really reaching her, the deeper part, the part that stays. You can do everything right on the surface and still not know if any of it is truly landing. If you've ever cared about someone's growth and quietly wondered whether you were making a difference, you know that feeling. One day, on a field trip, we were sitting together on the bus, and I asked her to read me something she'd written in her journal. It was good. Really good. And without thinking much of it, I said, "You're a writer." Just like that. To me it was a small, passing moment. I forgot it almost as soon as it happened. She never forgot it. She told me, years later, that right there on that bus was the first time she believed it. That one word. Because here's what I couldn't see then, and what our brains never let us see in the moment... She carried it. My belief in her, being spoken to like her voice mattered. It stayed with her through years of her life I knew nothing about. Today she's a published author. She reached out, out of the blue, to tell me it was that belief that helped keep her going. For a long time, I had no proof any of it mattered. And it mattered the whole time. I think about that a lot now, building this, because being a community builder is the same quiet work. You show up, you welcome people, you answer the comment, you hold the space, and most days you have no idea what's landing. A member reads your post at midnight and doesn't reply. Someone quietly tries the thing you suggested and never tells you it worked. You're planting words on a bus you'll never hear about again. The silence isn't proof nothing's happening. It's just the part you don't get to see. That's the thing about worth. Your brain wants the evidence, the thank-you, the sign that you're getting through.

Amazing story and reminder, @Donna Thornton! It’s so true that as community builders we don’t get a lot of feedback about our impact as well as sometimes the impact isn’t seen until much later. I love this reminder to believe in ourselves and keep going! Thank you! 😊
