Everyone Got the Claude Watermark Wrong
This is the first of many things that came of this weekend's research run and using my Claude time for the week in two days! Close to 4000 emails were analyzed, combined organized and what came of it is 4 books, 24 articles and a possible future class for sale. This is the article that created the Provenance Assurance Layer in WCP. ***** In August, one of the largest online-writing schools told its list that Anthropic's new watermarking would punish lazy writers and reward everyone else. Copy and paste straight from Claude, you get marked. Use AI the smart way, for brainstorming and remixing and expanding your own drafts, and you're fine. It's a comforting argument. It's also wrong, and it's wrong in a way that matters if you write books. I wrote a first version of this correction the week the announcement landed, and I got half of it right. This is the version with the other half in it. What happened in August On 11 August 2026, Anthropic confirmed it would embed machine-readable marks in content Claude generates or processes. Text carries an imperceptible watermark. Files carry signed provenance metadata using the C2PA standard. Almost nobody covering this mentioned why it happened. Compliance drove it. Article 50 of the EU AI Act obliges providers to mark synthetic content in a machine-readable format, and those transparency obligations took effect on 2 August 2026. Anthropic signed the associated Code of Practice in July, alongside roughly 190 other signatories. Behind Article 50 sit fines of up to 15 million euros or 3 percent of worldwide turnover. That distinction matters, because a company acting on principle can change its mind. A company acting on regulation cannot, and every other major provider carries the same obligation. Models launched on or after 2 August support marking at launch, and as of early September the two Anthropic names in that group are both from its 5.1 generation. Older models sit in a transition period with 2 December 2026 attached to it. That date comes from the AI Omnibus provisional agreement reached in May 2026, which gives generative systems already on the market before 2 August until then to meet the machine-readable marking requirement. It's a grace period with a statute behind it, not a deadline someone picked.

Why does it matter if ai was used? Isn't spell check using ai? There's a lot of little things where ai is used that could flag someone's whole work. I was anti ai for a long time but I've come around to it. It's useful in a digital age where everyone is impatient and poor lol.
Someone really smart figured me out....
My daily posts meander a bit but do have a long term goal and purpose. I'm writing multiple books here, one article at a time. and some of the tools I;ve been adding are to make some things easier. I want to cross post these to facebook and substack and get a wider reach. I currently do not have an easy way to do that. Its a form of marketing, so I'm doing extra work on markcrafter before releasing it as others may want the same features. ImageCrafter is doing some of the same heavy lifting for graphics and now animations and short movies. And now that I had the request for the Full AI, AI Reporting/ No Ai options I'm adding in some extra tools for folks that do not want or need to do everything here but want to take some of the pieces here directly to claude, chatgpt, local, gemini, etc.. A number of the outputs here can work elsewhere in other ways you may want. This is the REAL reason I've made import/export as robust as it is. Use the best tool for the job. So for instance you could take the author's voice output and add it to a claude skill for writing. I'll be doing some training for this in the upper tiers here soon. I'm still using claude skills for some things, cowork, code, affinity, canva. They're all tools. I'm thinking of WCP as a swiss army knife, but not all swiss army knives always have the blades you want or need. The whole point is to help folks write better, be more productive and make all of our lives more lucrative right? That being said, almost all my writing projects start in WCP lately.

But who figured you out? 🤔
Because I love to tease new things
I got my Fable back...for a few hours anyway and below is what I did with it... The first image is a cleanup of the rail to make it less busy and get things ready for the rate change and tiering. I promised at least two weeks notice and a full explanation of the details before it happens. The list is ALL of the current plugins available or in the works currently. If you are WCP user before the tiering happens you have access to ALL of the currently available tools as long as you stay current. After the Writer, Pro, and Studio Tiers are put in place the next time a new tool arrives you will have access to everything at your tier or below without a cost change. ImageCrafter was awaiting MarketCrafter. I'll try to do a video on both this weekend as they are 95% there now. ImageCrafter is a complete graphics toolkit for creating covers, merchandise, Graphics for social media, interior book images and eventually..... video. I'm basically cloning features from Leonardo, Canva and Tensorart to get rid of more monthly subscriptions. why pay for multiple tools when one is a swiss army knife? I've been building to this one for a couple months now with some of the new tools and skill room enhancements MarketCrafter is a Beast. So far almost 200,000 lines of code. Create a marketing campaign, pull quotes and scenes for graphics, keywords, market positioning and specific formats for a variety of social media sites. Schedule the releases on a calendar for automatic posting and post automatically with analytics and a feedback loop system to see what works and what doesn't. The first REAL test of this will be a campaign for wordcrafter.pro itself! I've thrown in a few sample images with a test campaign from a few weeks ago when I first started working on this. Please give suggestions as this is a major add (pun intended) for all of us. Still on the roadmap is children's picture books, coloring and activity books from our stories and novels, Video trailers and scenes in various formats, GameCrafter, BookWorlds, and a couple of real surprises.

Ideal Reader Skill Room
Let me know what you think of this one. It's in the WCP skill panel as of last night. Select all of the files in your book and story bible. Select the Idealk Reader Skill Room and say "Go" or ask Pip the persona for the room what to do. They will ask you some questions and create a report similar to the one below. Yes some of what this does is also elswhere (but different). This is another of the growing list of skills and reports usable by traditional writers or ai assisted writers. For those who have missed the memo I added a switch in your user/settings/profile card to use Full Ai Help, Ai Reporting, or No Ai. This switch allows you to use WCP as JUST an editor and use all of the NON AI related tools, Use the Ai based reporting tools but nothing that writes prose for you, or use everything. This was done to make WCP more palatable to traditional writers that do not want to use Ai at all but want a good online editor that keeps their books organized and traditional writers open to using Ai to aid their writing but do not want any Ai to toouch whatthey actually write. It greys out the options that are unavailable under each switch so you can see what you *could* use but not without chagning the switch. The default is of course all AI on. And as usual when I give you something simple you also get something a little....extra that it leads to. One of my favorite movies "What about Bob?" - Baby Steps to the next plugin.....(or two)
