How to read and assign values to geometry nodes modifiers?
It sounds like such a basic question but I've been struggling with it last day and couldn't find an answer and AI was giving all the incorrect answers. So lets say I have a custom node group that I assign as a modifier to a mesh object (see image). How do I actually read and assign values to this modifier like 'Resolution' or 'Bevel Radius'? To be precise, I'm trying to build a modal operator which is after adding the geo node modifier, should allow me to adjust parameters of this modifier by, as an example, moving mouse to adjust Radius and then LMB to confirm. It seems like geo nodes work differently from regular modifiers and I constantly getting different errors. I'm also not very familiar with modals, currently I'm adding the modifier via invoke() and then adjust the parameters through modal() via if event.type == 'MOUSEMOVE', is this the correct approach? I attached the WIP operator I'm trying to make, it uses a custom append_geo_nodes() function that references a blender file with all my custom geonodes so it won't work on its own but you can add any custom geo node modifier to test it.. Thank you!

The key is finding the input socket on the node Here is an example

Hey @Kallun Sheppard , welcome! Building Python skills for work while working toward your own company is a great goal. 💪 What kind of company are you hoping to start, and how do you see Python fitting into it? What games have you been playing lately?
👋 Hi, I’m Daniele!
Hi my name is Daniele Esposito. I live in Germany, Munich and I plan on writing Python scripts to maintain and improve our agency's internally developed blender addons. I want to get these 3 things from the community: 1.  Learn from the best 2.  Help where I can 3. Make connections with new people For fun, I like to do these three things: 1.  Play Basketball 2. Cooking 3.  Play Video Games

Hey @Daniele Esposito , welcome! Working on internal Blender add-ons sounds like a fun mix of Python and production work. Hope to see some of your projects!
Hello enthusiasts,
I am Asim, from Skardu, a remote yet naturally beautiful region of Pakistan—the city that serves as the gateway to K2, the world's second-highest mountain, which you may have heard of. I’ve been learning Blender for about a month through another resource, but I recently discovered this platform and was excited to see that it combines both Python and Blender. I have a degree in Bioinformatics and a basic to intermediate understanding of programming. My goal is to become an expert programmer so I can build advanced and meaningful projects. Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by 3D animation and computer graphics. Unfortunately, when I was younger, I had little to no access to the resources needed to learn these skills. Now, I finally have the opportunity to pursue that dream, and I’m determined to make the most of it. I’m looking forward to learning from this community and exploring everything this platform has to offer in Python and Blender. Newcomer, Asim. Wish me good luck ☺️.

Hi Asim! It's great to have someone joining us from Skardu 🙂 Excited to see where your projects take you! Good luck
I'll Be Back Here
I plan to take a preliminary 3-hour course first and then take this one, as I think this approach makes more sense for me.
