A BEGINNER'S MAP OF THE WHOLE THING for anyone who opened the app once, got overwhelmed by the rail full of icons, and closed the tab. This is the orientation I wish existed on day one. I keep running into the same moment with new people. They sign up, they see a binder, a rail with ten-ish icons, a skill panel, a settings page with four tabs, and they freeze. Not because any one piece is hard. Because nobody told them what the whole thing is before showing them the parts. So let's back all the way up. WHAT IT ACTUALLY IS WordCrafter.Pro is a writing app with an AI co-writer built in, plus everything downstream of the manuscript, covers, formatting, audio, marketing, and lately the actual business side of being a published author. That's the one-sentence version, and it's intentionally broad, because the thing I keep coming back to is that every other AI writing tool stops at the manuscript. We don't. The manuscript is maybe a third of the actual job of being an author, and I got tired of authors needing six subscriptions to cover the rest. Underneath, it's a binder, the way Scrivener authors already think, series, books, chapters, scenes, characters, world documents, all in one tree, an editor that's a real word processor, and a skill panel where you talk to AI, not command it, talk to it, conversationally, through named personas who have opinions and sometimes push back. That conversational part is the thing I'm most stubborn about. A room that just does what you type is a slot machine. A room that argues with you a little is actually useful. WHY I'M ACTUALLY BUILDING THIS Strip away all the plugin names and here's the actual goal, and it hasn't moved since day one: help writers write with the easiest, best tools we can make, kill as many of those other subscriptions as humanly possible by absorbing the paid functions you'd otherwise rent elsewhere, and make writing feel like something you do with a team instead of alone in front of a blank page at midnight again.

Friday Momentum: Keep Readers Between Books A series that stays in touch with readers between releases sells the next book faster. Here's how to keep the thread warm inside WordCrafter.Pro and outside it. So here's the trouble with series. You finish book two, you're proud, and then you go quiet for four months while you write book three. Your readers don't go quiet, though. They go looking for something else to read. Whew. That gap is where you lose people. Friday's piece is about closing that gap. Some of it happens inside WordCrafter.Pro, and some of it happens in the places where your readers already are. I'll be clear about which is which, because I don't want you hunting for a button that isn't there. PART ONE: INSIDE THE APP Start with the Writer's Desk. Open it and find the Series panel. It lists every series and project you have, and clicking a series shows you all its books. 1. Make sure the books are in the right order on that page. Readers who find you should see book one first. 2. Check the series line on each cover in ImageCrafter's Covers room. It should match the position of the book on the shelf, so people can see where to start. 3. Mark the documents that matter across the whole series. Each document has an S box. Ticking it means the document is visible to the other books in the series. Use it for world rules, a glossary, or profiles of recurring characters. Those are the things readers will want to see again. Sidebar: the S box is for your own books' use. It doesn't post anything anywhere. It just makes sure the next book knows what you already decided. PART TWO: OUTSIDE THE APP WordCrafter.Pro doesn't have a built-in way to send teasers or build a reader list (yet..Michael is working on this too). That work happens in your own channels, and that's fine. Here's a simple plan you can run without any special tools. 1. Pick a day of the week and stick to it. Maybe every Thursday, or every other Monday. A steady rhythm beats a loud launch followed by silence. 2. Post a short teaser each time. One line from the book, one place from the world, or one question about what happens next. 3. Start a small reader list. A simple sign-up for people who want to know when the next book is out. Even twenty people who are waiting for you is a real base to build on. 4. Plan four posts at a time, not one. It's much easier to stay consistent when the next four are already written.

I put together the video below to show my basic Process in my Spooky October Writing Challenge Entry Where I take the traditional story of babYaga the evil Russian witch and flip it on its head and make her the vilified protagonist. This covers my research, premise setup and a walk thru of the story development and writers room to get to chapter 3 There is a change I will be making to WordCrafter.pro this week unless convinced otherwise. A couple of weeks ago I made some major additions to story canon, continuity, and subplot threads to BW, BC, & WCP since they are all interlinked. This vastly increased the quality from BW & BC the automated tools but I did not foresee what it would do to the skillrooms in WCP. It is adding the canon and threading tracking to the actual chapter Prose. It is well marked so it is easy to remove and *must* be removed before running Prose doctor or the Reader's room through the text or I suspect very weird things will happen. But It DOES need to be seen by the writers room and editorial rooms so I am goign to make a modification, whihc will be an update to the next version of the skillroom prompts. You choose which version you use in preferences. This protects books in progress from suddenly sounding different or working different from expectations. I think we're at version 10 for most of them now. It's unknown how many revisions I went through in the early days when I only wrote with Claude skills and projects.
