Homeostasis: How Alcohol Throws the Body Out of Balance
Hi friends! 🌿 I'm back from holidays... sorry for being a bit quiet the last couple of weeks! Ready to get going again! I've got some fun things planned over the next couple of months... think challenges, new tools, and more to help you on this journey. Today’s video I reflex to why alcohol can make us feel like we can't cope with life... when really, that feeling may be the alcohol itself, not us. I break down homeostasis — the body's drive to stay in balance — and how alcohol throws that off, then gets credit for "fixing" discomfort it helped create in the first place. I’d love to hear what resonated for you. Journaling prompts to follow later in the week x

Cravings
Hi all😊 I noticed a lot of cravings this afternoon/evening. I thought cravings last around 15mins and pass but this felt like hours of cognitive dissonance… The need I was trying to meet with alcohol - dial down the intensity and get me through the late afternoon/evening, numb the big emotions of overwhelm.. I was aware I was below 50% when I checked in - hungry, tired and mind scattered. I didn’t have a drink but it added extra “noise” unease to my evening I could have done without 🤣 it’s been a while since a craving has popped up and hung around like that/lasted so long, the will I/wont I… I played the tape forward, hydrated and it helped. I have a family party tomorrow night and I will drive, it’s not bothering me at all. It means I can leave when I want 😎 and I noticed taking alcohol out of the picture actually shows me who I do want to spend my time with and some of them don’t really fill my cup 🤣🤣so it’s not about the alcohol.. what should I dig into or maybe I just let it be.? Hope everyone is doing ok on their journey 🙏🏻✨

5 days AF
I’m celebrating 5 days being AF which is a pretty good streak for me lately. I find getting beyond the 3rd and 4th evenings to be particularly tricky. I’m grateful! I have clarity this morning about some things that have been a source of confusion for a long time. Feeling so grateful. Thank you all for being an ongoing support. Thank you to Rina especially! And thank you, God! 💕🙏🏻
