TRAINING: The Twice Is A Setting Protocol
Operators. Sunday training. Standard Eight of the Twelve: Evolve or Die.
The mechanism. This morning's Charge told you that once is weather and twice is a setting. Here is why that line decides the whole review. A single miss arrives with a story attached, and the story is usually true, so you accept it and change nothing. The same miss twice has no story left. It is the system doing exactly what it was built to do, and no amount of effort stacked on top of it produces a different result.
THE TWICE IS A SETTING PROTOCOL
  1. Write the week, not the feeling. Three lines. What held. What broke. What the break cost. Written down and outside your head, because memory edits the tape to protect the method.
  2. Find the repeat. Read the three lines and mark the miss that shows up more than once. One repeat. If you come up with four, you are not reviewing, you are confessing.
  3. Name the setting behind it. Not the day it happened. The condition that produces it every time. A start time. A room. A name on the calendar. A phone inside arm's reach. The incident is what you saw. The setting is what built it.
  4. Write the change in the only form that installs. When X arrives, I do Y. One change. Five changes is a new program, and new programs die by Wednesday.
  5. Put it where the failure lives. The calendar block. The alarm. The checklist line. The setting on the device. A change that stays in your head is a hope, and hope does not survive Wednesday.
Tonight's drill: run steps 1 through 3 before you sleep. Three lines of week, one repeat marked, one setting named out loud. Ten minutes. Then write the change and install it before your first block tomorrow, so Monday runs on a setting you chose instead of one you inherited.
