Thankyou
Hi everyone, I wanted to thank you for being part of Aurora Wellbeing. Over the past few months I've been reflecting on where I can make the biggest difference. Because of that, I've made the difficult decision to close this community. Thank you so much for your support, your encouragement and for being part of this journey. I genuinely appreciate every one of you and wish you all the very best for the future. I will stay around in other groups so hopefully I will see some of you there. Thankyou again. Take care, Jo

One thing I wish I'd known before becoming an IDVA...
When I first became an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, I genuinely believed that if I worked hard enough, cared enough, and never gave up, I could make things better for everyone. The truth was much harder. I quickly learned that even with the best intentions, we can't always change someone's situation. Sometimes there isn't enough evidence. Sometimes there aren't enough resources. Sometimes waiting lists are too long. Sometimes systems fail. And sometimes people simply aren't ready for help yet. That doesn't mean professionals don't care. It doesn't mean the person asking for help has failed. It means that real life is often far more complicated than we expect. One of the biggest lessons I learned was that our role isn't to rescue people. It's to stand beside them, provide information, help them understand their options, and support them to make the safest decisions they can at the time. That can be incredibly difficult, because when you care deeply, you want to fix everything. But none of us can. Whether you're a survivor wondering why professionals couldn't "just do something," or you're someone working in a helping profession yourself, please remember this: Most people are doing the best they can with the resources, time and powers they have. Some professionals are exceptional. Some aren't. But no professional can solve every problem alone. Looking back, I wish someone had told me that earlier. It would have made me a kinder professional—and probably a kinder person to myself too. I'd love to hear your thoughts. If you've ever worked in a helping profession, what is one lesson you wish you'd known before you started?

Welcome to Back to Stability-Aurora
Welcome to Back to Stability from Aurora Wellbeing. 💙 If you've found your way here, there's a good chance you've been through something that changed you. And maybe, when you reached out for help afterwards, you found yourself navigating systems, appointments, meetings, or processes that left you feeling exhausted, unheard, or like you had to fight just to be understood. This community is for people who are tired of simply surviving. Inside, you'll find practical tools, mini-courses, supportive resources, and honest conversations to help you feel more grounded, regain confidence, and begin rebuilding a life that feels like yours again. You don't have to share your story if you don't want to. You don't have to explain or justify what you've been through. Just know that you are welcome here, exactly as you are. Because Aurora is a new and growing community, it will continue to evolve over time. If there's a topic you'd like to learn about, a resource that would help, or something you'd love to see inside the community, please let me know. You can comment below or send me a DM at any time—I'd genuinely love to build this space around what you need most. As Aurora grows, my priority is keeping it a safe and supportive space for everyone. I kindly ask that we keep this community free from sales pitches, unsolicited messages, or self-promotion. If you have something you'd love to share that could benefit members, just drop me a DM first and we can chat about it. 💙 Please be kind and respectful to one another—everyone here may be carrying something heavy, even if you can't see it. I'm really glad you're here. If you feel comfortable, pop a message below and say hello. I'd love to know a little about you and what brought you to Aurora. — Jo 🌙

I need your help, I am suffering.
I suffer from a pain in my head, as if someone is thinking about me, obsessed with me, or watching me. This pain in my head is a very annoying feeling, especially when it stems from certain people, toxic relationships, or individuals I do not want to be with. Please help me with this, as this pain and my mind being preoccupied with these thoughts prevent me from focusing on my life.
