OpenAI DevDay 2026: What’s New?
Hi guys! Big day yesterday, with OpenAI launching all kinds of things at DevDay. I’ve grouped the full list below so you can see what’s new. These are announcements, with a mixture of releases, previews and things still coming. Access depends on your plan, location and workspace settings. 1. Assistants, models and privacy • Dots: an always-on personal assistant with a cloud computer. Rolling out to eligible Pro and Business Premium users; the Enterprise, Edu and Healthcare beta needs an admin to enable it. • GPT-6.1 Sol: stronger coding, computer use and professional work in ChatGPT Work, Codex and the API. Not ordinary Chat yet. Standard API token prices are one-fifth of Astra's, which is separate from subscription pricing. • Ultrafast: up to eight times faster Astra token generation in Codex, using more allowance. Pro 500 and eligible Enterprise access; Sol's version is coming soon. • Private Intelligence: stronger enterprise data protections, with Private Inference previewing this autumn. 2. Building and maintaining software • Codex in the cloud: tasks continue while your laptop sleeps, using reusable development environments. • Refreshed Codex CLI: voice, clearer multi-agent management and improved session workflows in the terminal. • Code Review: a unified review experience plus automatic cloud reviews. GitLab support is in preview. • Codex Security Cloud: repository scans, ongoing commit checks and proposed vulnerability fixes for review. • Decisions API: Luna handles bounded classification and routing decisions. Limited preview. • Agents API with computer use: developers can build agents that operate software through a hosted browser. • AWS Bedrock Managed Agents: OpenAI agent capabilities running within AWS. Preview. 3. Plugins and connected workflows • Plugin extensions: interactive panels, sidebar tools and file viewers inside ChatGPT. • Improved plugin creation, submission and discovery: easier building, clearer submission feedback and better discovery. • Sites can host plugins: shared apps use each person's connected data and permissions.

GPT-6 Sol and Luna are here, and Voice in Work is coming to your phone
ChatGPT has had two useful changes this week, especially if you want it to do more than answer questions. OpenAI has added GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna to ChatGPT Work and Codex. Sol is intended for more demanding professional work, while Luna brings lower-cost access for work you can supervise and check. Astra remains the model for the most important jobs. At the same time, Voice in Work now works on web and mobile for eligible accounts. That means you can talk through a task while you are away from your desk, then have ChatGPT create a document, presentation or spreadsheet, use a connected app or work in a browser. If you stop the voice conversation before the task is done, it can keep going in text. The sensible first test is not "run my business from my phone." Try one contained job. After a client call, say: "Turn these notes into a follow-up email, a list of agreed actions and a one-page brief. Mark anything you are not certain about. Do not send anything." You still review any action that needs approval on screen, but voice makes it easier to get the job moving before you forget the details. Which job would you rather explain out loud than type from scratch? Dot Has Completely Changed How I Develop My Programs
I have to say, I’m seriously impressed with what ChatGPT can do now with Dot. Before Dot, I actually asked ChatGPT if it could execute commands directly on my NAS because the NAS had its own IP address and was accessible on my network. At the time, the answer was basically no. ChatGPT could give me the commands, but I still had to sit at the keyboard, copy them, paste them into the NAS, bring the results back, then repeat the whole process again. That was always the frustrating part for me. Now with Dot, that has completely changed. I can explain what I want done in normal conversation and ChatGPT can work directly through the development process, execute the required work, check the results, find problems, make corrections and continue testing without me having to manually enter every command on the keyboard. For me, this is huge. I’m not a software developer. I know what I want my program to do and I’ve been building it with ChatGPT, but I don’t want to spend hours copying commands between ChatGPT and a terminal. With Dot, it feels like ChatGPT has gone from telling me **how** to do the work to actually being able to **do the work with me**. That is a massive difference. I can give it the direction, set the boundaries and let it work through the development and testing while I concentrate on what I actually want the program to achieve. I’ve been waiting for this type of AI capability for a long time, and seeing it actually work is pretty exciting. Anyone else here using Dot this way for developing their own programs or working directly with their NAS/server?

💍 I built my first app with AI, and now I'm looking for wedding industry partners!
Hi ChatGPT Lovers! I'm Natalia, a wedding officiant in Niagara Falls, ON. I just launched my first SaaS product, Amplify Love Weddings, an interactive wedding planner for ALL couples. I'm not a developer, and I built the whole thing with AI [add which tools you used and how long it took]. It helps couples: ✨ Track their budget ✨ Organize their guest list, seating, and meal choices ✨ Personalize their ceremony, with an AI writing assistant to help with vows and readings ✨ Keep it all in one private, cloud-saved place, with no ads and no upsells Now I'm looking for wedding industry partners. If you're a planner, photographer, videographer, florist, baker, DJ, venue owner, stylist, hair and makeup artist, celebrant, or content creator, or you have an audience of engaged couples, I'd love to connect. How the affiliate partnership works: 💰 You earn 30% commission on every sale made through your referral link (the planner is CA$39) 🎁 Affiliate partners get complimentary access to the planner so they can try it and share it with confidence Interested? DM me with a little about your work and your audience, and I'll get you set up. Watch the video: https://www.instagram.com/p/DeIg2E3sJ46/ Explore the planner: https://www.amplifyloveweddings.com And if you're building something with AI too, I'd love to hear about it in the comments. 💛 Cheerfully, Natalia Love Angelou
