Newbie here — learning estimating and AI

Hi everyone, I’m Chev 👋 Im based in Perth WA. My background is in mining and graphic design, so I’m coming into this with no construction experience.

My brother’s an estimator, and hearing about the challenges in his role has sparked my interest. I love AI and exploring how it can help solve practical problems, which is what brought me here.

Long term, I’d love to build the skills to become an estimator and potentially start my own remote estimating business, if that’s even a thing?

I’ve already consumed alot of your content on Youtube and found it really useful and interesting.

Is this community the right place to build the knowledge I’d need to get into the industry? Would upgrading to your other offering be the next step, or are there other qualifications or hands-on experience I should work towards as well?

Appreciate any advice on where to go from here!
