🎸 Big news: welcome to Marc's Jazz Guitar Academy
You may have noticed the new name, new look, same URL address. Here's what's happening. Starting August 1, everything I've built since 2012 consolidates into this one place. No more separate programs, tiers, memberships or courses living on different platforms. One academy. And you're already in it :) What this means for you: 🔓 *The full classroom is now open* All 30-something courses. Every standard, every deep dive, the complete archives. Unlocked for everyone in here. Go look. It's all there. 📅 *Live calls, every week (continued)* Saturday 9 AM ET with me: our regular office hours, Q&A, jam, whatever-session. Plus Wednesday workshops with Coach, on rotating topics. 8 live calls a month. 🎯 *One clear path* Start (or re-start) with the Pinnacle philosophy, build the Foundations, then stack repertoire and vocabulary, tune by tune. The mountain is big - we chip away at it together. *What does NOT change*: Your access, your rate, your community. If you have any questions about your membership or billing, just email [email protected] and we'll take care of you personally. This is the Skool I always wanted to run. Simple, upfront, everything included, nothing held back. See you Saturday at 9. Bring your guitar, your questions ...and your game face! 🎸 — Marc PS one more thing, and it's a fun one. 🎁 The Academy now has an affiliate program: if you know someone who'd love it here -- a guitar buddy, a bandmate, that friend who keeps saying they want to learn jazz, then share your affiliate link. When they join, you earn 40% recurring commission for as long as they're a member. Do the math: refer a few friends, and your own membership might wind up costing you nothing :) Spread the word -- the room only gets better with more players in it.

Etudes 2.3 and 2.4
Been working on these two etudes. There are a couple of tricky changes (for me) that I isolated and worked on a lot and I made progress I believe. I'm going to go to work on the blues etude and then hopefully some music soon :) Any feedback is always welcome as usual...thanks! https://youtu.be/uyoGcJRbB2Q https://youtu.be/u1_hkCKsoZw
Etudes 1.7 & 1.8
https://youtu.be/yAF7XB5qjBo Hello all, Here is Nancy posting her progress on these etudes which are the last in Lesson 1 and combine rhythms from the previous etudes. I'm feeling very comfortable with these and am moving on to Lesson 2, at long last. I'm very excited to move on! To my surprise, I am actually liking comping. Steel strings are getting easier now for me (a mostly nylon player). I know that Cm7(flat 5) with root on 6 doesn't sound so good. Still figuring that out. It might have to do with my fingernails being slightly too long and/or this little mini jazzmaster has a skinny neck. Or, I might just need more practice. thanks for watching if you do.....
Sharing a just released song medley
This is something different - not jazz, not sure of the genre, but from an Accomplished singer, recording artist and friend, Hyewon Oh. She is a graduate of Berkley School of Music, lives in the US but tours in Korea. These songs of hers are in Korean, but they communicate somehow into any language. It’s just lovely soothing song ballads that I thought to share with my friends here…https://youtu.be/SkkGDUuty-8?is=D7PbQHoPO568b_PT
Shadow of your Smile
I've off the grid for a while but I'm back. My attempt at Shadow of your Smile, hopefully I did it some justice. Feedback welcome .https://youtu.be/PITLdI_-i64
