Not all money is the same
Two solo founders.
Both did $40K last month.
The first one worked 58 hours, took four calls a day he didn't want, and spent Sunday night dreading the week to come.
The second worked 22 hours, taught one workshop he was genuinely excited about, and took his kid to the lake on Friday.
Same number in the bank.
Completely different money.
We've been trained to think a dollar is a dollar.
It isn't. All money spends the same, but not all money costs the same.
Lifestyle Founders understand this difference and we call the good kind …. ALIGNED MONEY.
Here's what I mean.
Every dollar arrives carrying the conditions it was earned under. Money made from dread or fear carries with it the energy of fear and dread.
Money made from your genius carries something else entirely. You've felt this before… the client payment that landed and made your stomach drop, and the one that landed and made you want to go build something.
The amounts might be the same but hold a Different frequency.
And … the crazy part…
it doesn't stop when it hits your account.
Money is a conductor, it’s energy and how you earn and spend matters and influences this current… I mean currency
That's the part most people miss. making money is not just making money…. You're transmuting energy and passing it on.
So I think of aligned money as being earned in alignment with the following 3 criteria?
Run your last $10K through these and see how aligned your money is.
Score each out of 10 - full score is out of 30.
One. Leverage.
Did earning it give you time or take it? Aligned money is highly leveraged … for example the thing you built serves many people.
Unaligned money is rented. You stop, it stops.
Two. Genius.
Did it come from your zone of genius, or from your willingness to suffer? Most money in the world is earned on the second one. You can make a great living being tough enough to endure work you're not built for.
But aligned money is earned by you being in your zone of genius, doing your souls work and expressing in your own unique way..
Three. Mission.
Did it move something bigger than you? Did it solve real problems for people?
Aligned money is downstream of a real transformation in another human. Not a transaction… but part of a bigger mission that creates a significant change for someone else.
When the money is connected to that, you’ll be given more of it to expand the bigger work.
That last line matters more than it looks.
Unaligned money has to be spent to feel like anything.
That's why the watch, the upgrade, the vacation need to be purchased…
You're trying to convert it into meaning after the fact … because it didn't arrive with any.
Aligned money already means something the moment it lands.
Now …
one honest caveat here, because I'm not interested in selling you a spiritual excuse to stay broke.
Not all your money is going to be aligned.
Especially early on.
Some of it is going to come from work you'd rather not do, for people you'd rather not serve, because rent exists and your kids eat. That's not a moral failure. That's a season.
The move isn't to refuse unaligned money. The move is to stop spending it on things that trap you into needing more of it and start spending it on the leverage that buys you aligned money later.
Unaligned money is not bad, it’s needed, especially in the beginning but Aligned money is the destination.
That's really the whole game.
You're not trying to make more money.
You're trying to change the kind of money you make.
So. Your last $10K.
Did it give you time or take it?
Did it come from your genius?
Did it impact someone did it contribute to a bigger mission?
Three yeses and you're already building the thing.
Sit with the ones that were no or you scored less than 10 out of 10…. that's your next 90 days.
What did you score out of 30?
