Next year while visiting France id like to play in biggest comp possible . Question is would my PE membership suffice to enter ?
Petanque the Greatest Game you never heard of.
Has this been reviewed. At the time it came out it must have been one of the first of it's kind in English. Wondering what others think.
Competition reports
Let’s have your reports from this weekend. What went well and what didn’t. What did you learn? For me I played a different comp every evening this week and was tinkering with my gesture. Nothing huge just attempting to replicate Kantaros style. I got battered today by a MUCH better team and I learnt that I need to change tactics much quicker when my instincts kick in. In addition I don’t need to focus so much on boule to boule shooting IF the terrain allows for rafle style as I only just beat a team who shot every boule that way with a high percentage of carreau and they didn’t care.
Shooting feedback
I'm always practising on my shooting. Something I really want to improve 10 fold this year. Now, everyone says that the lead foot on the side you shoot from, in my case right, should point towards the target boule. All good, however I regularly miss the target 2cm to the right nearly everytime. I must say its consistent, so something is good. The length of the shot is also bang on, every time, just always a bit right. It's never left. So this must be telling me something. Any thoughts Kevin?
Masters De Pétanque - Rognac
Just watched the Masters de Pétanque final in Rognac on YouTube . The score ended 13-4 for the Dream Team, but I think the score doesn't tell the whole story. What impressed me most was their consistency. They stayed patient, made very few mistakes, and seemed to make the right decision at the right time. No unnecessary risks, just solid pétanque from start to finish. Philippe Suchaud was particularly impressive, especially in the shooting department, while Lacroix and Matraglia kept building pressure with solid pointing and tactical play. Team Doerr never really managed to find the rhythm that got them to the final. For me, this final was another reminder that experience and mental strength are just as important as shooting ability. What was your biggest takeaway from the match? 🎯 Suchaud's shooting? 🎯 Lacroix's tactical decisions? 🎯 Team Doerr not finding their rhythm? 🎯 Something else? Curious to hear what others saw from the stands or on the livestream. 🍻🏆
