MY CANCER IS NOT A TRAGEDY. AS A MATTER OF FACT.. One of the saddest things about a moment like this is that there are thousands of you who don’t want your lives to make a difference. All you really want is for people to like you. Maybe finish university. Get a good job or become self-employed. Find a husband or wife. Buy a nice house. Drive a nice car. Spend long weekends in the bushveld, drink beer, go on incredible holidays, grow old and stay healthy, have an amazing retirement with enough money to enjoy yourself. Living your best life. Living the dream. And then one day, hopefully, die peacefully, easy and NO hell. And that’s it. But whether your life actually counted for something in the light of eternity? You don’t really care. My dear friend, THAT is a tragedy, not my cancer! On 10 September 2025, Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at Utah Valley University. He was only 31 years old. People called it a tragedy. A disaster of epic proportion! And I remember thinking to myself; “ Really? Is this really a tragedy? Here was a man, 31 years who had devoted his entire life to only ONE central idea-to magnify Jesus Christ among the youth of his generation and the only thing he desired was to one day be remembered as someone who had courage for his faith. That is NOT a tragedy. That is the greatest and most incredible victory of in the 21st century. Let me tell you what is a tragedy. You and your husband or wife retire early. Seven streams of income. You move to Paradise Island in the Bahamas. You enjoy sunset cruises on your 50-foot yacht. You play padel. Work on your golf swing. Check your Bitcoin every morning. You collect LEGO, expensive watches and 50 fridge magnets from all the places you’ve travelled. And then…you die. And as you stand before the Creator of heaven and earth to give account for what you have done with your life, you tell God, “LOOK AT MY FRIDGE MAGNET COLLECTION!” Don’t waste your life. Your life was created for more than comfort. Your life was created for purpose. Your vision should be bigger than simply accumulating things. It should answer a much deeper question:
