yes, it's that time again. Skool News is out. and i have a controversial opinion about it (always).
in this Skool News issue, they talk about "creator burnout" and "content treadmill".
both are true.
but
they do not apply if you are NOT a content creator, but a business owner.
here is what they are saying:
- outsource growth to Skool
- focus on delivery only
sounds very attractive, right? spoiler alert - no, it does not.
if you are a business owner, and you outsource smth to an external party, you want "a bulletproof service contract with clear performance metrics" (not me, Gemini said this). what does it mean?
- "Clear Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Define exactly what success looks like. Include specific deadlines, quality standards, and response times so there is no ambiguity."
now, tell me, do we have this with Skool GB? well, i will answer that - no:
- no control
- no clear deadlines
- no expected standards
all we are asked for is TRUST US TO DO IT RIGHT.
well, you can do it - you can trust them to do it right. i don't. and here is the REAL PROBLEM:
- they said "it is working for a bunch of people". cool. what bunch? give me real numbers, please!
- i can't outsource smth, if i don't have any control over how it actually works for ME. it is not the way to do business. and i am a business owner, not content creator.
- and then, they are saying "continue to create content and drive traffic". what?! why? wait? didn't you just said i will end up with creator burnout?!
final point. difficult to digest. remember how they said that "only 5.0 rating is not good for a community"?
hm, i wonder if the same applies to their own feature. so far, they never mentioned a SINGLE bad thing about GB in the news. that just sucks. to me.
- never acknowledged people's concerned
- never mentioned what does not work
- never said anything bad about it
so, i am sorry to say what Stanislavski used to say "I don't believe you". but, it's just me.
they did say, it is amazing for people with no exposure to digital marketing experience. good for them. but if they want to become BUSINESS OWNERS, they need to get some. relying on someone doing it for your, road to nowhere.
NEWS (real news):
- they are working on adding payment methods, currency, and language on checkout page
- native app - improving app experience
- live calls quality improvement, as good as Zoom
- global search and global calendar - that sounds great!
i don't even know what question to pose here... just let me know what you think ⬇️
p.s. next projects is Growth Boost, because - my interpretation "that's how we are gonna be making money".
p.s.s. they could have made it way more transparent. i think. making it an extra feature you buy = pay them money. but then demanding more from them. right now we don't pay but as a result, we don't get any control over it. i think as a business owner, you can't accept it.
and the final psssssss - is my personal beef with them is too many groups went paid because of GB. where it did not make any sense.
