My Starter Post.

Eager to get going!

My wife and I have been lucky enough to have worked for startups that eventually IPO'd, generating large (at least "large" to us) Cap Gains.

A blessing.

Year after year writing large checks to the IRS made me sick. Our former CPA was hardly strategic and we got tired of hearing "paying Uncle Sam all that money is a good problem to have, right?"

Two or so years ago I left my w-2 job and focused on buying a business. The idea was to implement the "Buy then Build' blueprint, but after countless deal reviews, LOI's and offers that didn't stick... I went back to the drawing board. Oh- and we also had our second child.

How could I simply keep more of the money that we earned each year? Enter STR "loophole". We close next month on our first STR property in Maine... and that's what led us to Ryan and his team.
