Welcome to the Freediving Breath-Hold Hub 💦🤿
This is your one stop shop for my free freediving videos and breath-hold training resources. 👋 A bit about me if we haven't met I'm Gert Leroy. Freediving instructor, former national record holder, and the guy behind Gert Leroy Underwater on YouTube. I started freediving at 40. It changed everything. I've spent the last 10 years helping people feel calmer and more in control underwater. 💡 How this space works You can't post here, but you can comment on everything. I set it up this way because your comments help me understand what you need most. ➡️ Here's what you'll find inside: - Free training tools and breath-hold resources - My recent YouTube videos - My comeback training videos - Breath-hold guides and cheat sheets 💦 Want to go deeper? Everything here is a taste of what's inside the Underwater Squad. That's my paid training community where the full structured programs live. You can try it free for 7 days. No pressure. Take what you need here first. https://www.skool.com/underwatersquad Peace in every breath ✌ Gert

When six safety layers fail: lessons from a real freediving blackout
I thought it was time to remind us all of the dangers that come with freediving, so we don't become complacent and put our own lives and the lives of those we dive with in danger. The Mabini Freediving Accident (Philippines 🇵🇭): What Actually Happened😱 An experienced freediver blacked out at 6 metres under the surface. He was diving alone. Miraculously he survived after more than two full minutes unconscious underwater, and several minutes above the water. I've broken down what happened step by step so you guys can see what can go wrong in a typical freediving setup and how to prevent this incidents from happening. Rule #1: NEVER DIVE ALONE 🙏 You can watch the non-Youtube version here in the safety module.
